Servers Down?

<p>Trying to connect for the last 30 minutes (Guk). I keep getting the message trying server #1,2,3,etc. up to 9 and then it says all servers may be busy, please try again later. In the almost 5 years I've been playing this game, I have never received this message before. EQ doesn't have that many players anymore. Also, when trying the various servers, it is a very quick jump from 1 to 2 to 3 etc. Usually when trying servers, it takes a little while before it jumps to the next one.</p>

<p>The game servers are up, albeit not exactly working well.  If you try to zone you will get booted and be unable to get back in, if you try to mail something - it won't let you, so it seems it's just the login servers are all down.</p><p>Maybe whoever is suppose to turn login servers off before a patch didn't realize the patch was an hour earlier than normal today.</p>

<p>I can't log into the Station Launcher, it immediately goes to server timeout. My attempts to log into my account info on the site goes to a server maintenance page. I'm sure it's all related and hopefully they'll have everything up and running again soon.</p>

<p>Yeah it looks like there was (or are) some authentication issues as well, lots of folks showing up as "General" on the forums (which is what you show up as when the forums cannot authenticate you as being subscribed to the game).</p>

<p>I am in the EST it is  11:09. Nektulos server. I get the same thing. Can't log on. Trys server 5-10 then get the message -All servers busy, try again later. If there is maintance someone forgot to put a notice that all servers are down. <p>To add more information. The app acts like it is not able to try to login servers. When the app tries the login servers it just cycles through the servers with out any kind of time out pause.</p>

<p>Same here, Login cycling. I have to say that I think EQ2 is a great game but the coding issues as of late (instability, poor customer service response, etc.) is beginning to take it's toll. How long before people just find another more stable MMO if one exists? If you can't play the game, what's the point? I hope Sony turns this around....</p>

<p>Forgot to add: The de-authentication on the forums certianly seems to be progressing. It started out as about 20% of the names showing in white, now it looks like its up to 75% or so.</p><p>So looks like to me a connection failure with their login / authorization servers (or whatever datacenter they may be in). Depending on the severity of it, things may be up in 15 minutes, or it could be several hours.</p>

<p>I find it amazing they always blame our pc's Isp's, and us in general,  look at how dumb this company is,  no messages stating there are issues,  No GM's in sight, report and they expect tracert, pathping, etc etc,   you would think all these posts and someone would look into it,   And they wonder why there losing players!</p>

<p>Oh ya, I do remember that - we met a whole bunch of people from AB who came into Lucan for the day. One of them joined our guild and stayed as an alt! Frustrating for him, but a good thing for us, as he seems to be a pretty nice guy.</p><p>But seriously it is rare that no one can log in at all on any server. Usually if I can't log in on my server, I go play the Test Center for a while.</p>

Servers were down for maintainence, 2pm GMT (on US server) and came back up about 2.30pm, played for a while with no issues, then when I went to switch chars I got booted amd having same issues as everyone else.</p><p>I agree, all we're looking for atm is a 'we know its broked, its not your end, don't got reinstalling or upgrading your graphics card. We're working on it, and hopefully up in x hours'.</p><p>For now, I might as well go to the pub. Or tidy up the house. Pub it is then.</p>

<p>There is apparently "scheduled maintenance" taking place on the Station website, but after looking through that website and the knowledge base for 15 minutes I've given up on trying to find out how long the maintenance is supposed to take place.</p><p>Communication has never been SoE's strong suit.  God knows they try but for some reason they always fail.  Rather than have a big notice on the launcher or eq2players, it's always a forum post or buried a link or two deep into a website somewhere.</p>

<p>I just managed to get on Unrest server.</p><p>I put the tab at 'select character' rather than choosing which character / server I wanted and as i logged into game it once again asked pw but it finally loaded all my toons and from there I logged in normally.</p><p>either that or they just got it fixed as I was logging in for the 10th time <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" /></p>

Over 2 hours to get any recognition is still average customer support (at best). There were 3 red names on the forums when this first happened, and not even a "Wow servers are down? I'll look into this right now".</p><p>I guess I'd best give them the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe they missed all the posts. As soon as people get recognition that SOE are actually aware of the problem then things tend to settle down.</p>
