We've done it with master strikes and priest cures now why not for druid rings. They take up a whole bar by themselves. When a druid summons a portal it should be like the guild hall one except that it only contains the portals that they have gathered.

They are already implementing this on Test with both the Druid and Sorcerer portals. I think it is going live with the next Game Update.

If druids can drop a portal at the end of a group and people can then click and choose any location they like, that would be a great change - and really nice to get that hotbar back also. A player character should at least be on par with an NPC, not a downgrade

With that said I'd be really happy seeing some new convenience locations in addition that are unique to druids & sorcs, guildhalls have taken a large bite out of these class defining abilities, it would be nice if we could port to LS, EF, Fens maybe even get 2 locations in moors etc.

I am not sure about the druid's portals, but it looks like the sorcerers will also eventually get more spires to port to with the upcoming live event.

I also would prefer a single combined portal spell.

But actually you don't need to have all your portal spells available on your hot bar. They are not spells that need to be accessed very quickly and all time. When you want to open a portal you also can spend the additional three seconds to open your spell book, turn it to page four (or whatever page your spells are) and press the spell.

but it's always handy to have them organised where as when you rearrange your spell book they go out of order again. Do you know if that update is the one that goes live with the expansion pack in feburary?

I've only had to use one hotbar key for awhile now, since I got Pooka's Druid Rings and Spires UI mode (from eq2interface.com of course). This one key pops up a menu from which you (the caster) can choose which destination spell to cast.

But that is NOT the same as casting a generic portal from which each user can choose a different destination (like the Druid amenity in guild halls). I think that is what is planned for GU53? That should be easy code to copy. Will they also make the casting time much faster, like the Druid GH amenity? As it is now, even druids use the GH amenity because it is quicker.

It's on Test right now. One druid portal and one mage portal and all destinations are available. And as mentioned above, mage portal destinations will increase from 5 to 9.
