Recently came back to the game and was having trouble with EQ2 randomly crashing causing the computer to hard reboot. This was driving me nuts I tried everything with drivers and configurations no dice. Searched here, searched BFG, searched web and finally found the answer. THe BFG card is Overclocked from their factory and THAT is the problem. It's unstable with some 3d engines and EQ2 is one of them. It worked flawlessly in other engines which is why I didn't have the problem until now.

Solution: Download Rivatuner from Guru 3d and turn the clock speeds down to Nvidia's reference card speed. I found that dropping it from 694 Mhz to about 660 solved all my problems that game runs 60-120 fps at 1920 x 1280 and is super stable. Enjoy!

(BTW I might have had an early revision of the card. It's possible BFG has other 285's that don't have this issue. I saw they came out with other model numbers same speed)

my setup Win7 64 bit, EVGA X58 mobo, i7 920, BFG 285 GTX, 8GB mem
