Im wondering what kind of gear you guys use to up your resists... I just started raiding, and my guild requires me to be able to have around 8k-9k (self buffed) resists on everything.

Right now some of my resists are good (over 12k magic), but things like divine are very low.. so Im looking for the right gear. Im in full T2 (T3 hands) and fabled belt and ear piece and the rest is legendary jewelry (shard/elements or drops)

Just curious to see what everyone is using.. and how you keep up the +defense/parry

Couple of points:

As a paladin you are not only blessed with good health.. but on average we have higher resists than normal due to our higher wisdom score; so you can pretty much ignore talk of when they talk about resist gear.. just equip what you need to survive tanking the mobs and generally you'll have enough to survive all the AoEs.

Don't bother with divine resists... unless you are tanking avatars nothing actually hits you for large amounts of divine damage... so... ignore

In short.. you can pretty much ignore resists.

Yeah sometimes people overemphasize resists to the detriment of their raid force Ignore that silliness if you are a pally.

If you tend to run with mages alot you'll find that your resists tend to be much higher. In a full mage oriented group, i'll often times see my lowest resist barely under 10k even when I'm not wearing anything tailored around resists.

uhm yeah well.. allthough I agree ( to some extend) with the statements, the fact is that Im required to have these resists

So im not questioning whether I should have resists or not, just how -> what gear I should get to achieve that.. (and where to get it..)

Looks like I mostly need the divine and poison resist.. (self buffed! dont tell me to take a dirge )

Nothing in Heroic or instanced raid zones deals divine damage, (that you need to worry about anyways).

And the best resist you can get is crit mit and health.

I have to agre with the last post get lots of hp, mit, avoidance and crit mit. Have the ability to swap jewlery around to boost your resists if needed for specific named mobs. Don't try and get all resists to that level with instance gear as you'll just suck in other area's. Your gear needs to reflect the role your doing so focus more on getting gear that helps your role and you'll find the resists will come up anyway. If i raid on my Pally i'm usually there to either dps or tank something so i have my jewlery and armor set for that. If i dps i have my t2 dps plate armor and if i'm tanking i use the t2 crusader armor (my Pally is an alt so his armor is still t2 for the time being). I don't know if thats right or wrong but it works for me and our raid If i know a named is coming at me with say heat damage then i swap my jewlery to boost my heat resists if needed but generally they are high enough not to worry too much about it.

WoE has some pretty good fire resist jewelry etc, and If I remember right some of it is tradeable, some is not. That being said, I haven't cared about resists personally since early RoK raids. I have stuff I can switch out and so forth, but mostly? Worrying about it is nonsense. At least for a paladin. Generally, I'll wear whatever I deem necessary, even when I was told hey put on resist gear . And I lived. Made very little impact. Like people say, Hps and Crit mit are your resists. "You got your resist gear on there Aama? Yeah sure uh-huh yeahhh." heh If for some godawful reason I'm like clicking a statue on Druushk i may toss some heat on but even then, that hasn't happened for eons. I doubt i'd bother nowadays.
