Since the patch last night, I'm not able to log on tonight. I've tried reinstalling my ethernet drivers, my user account control is disabled on Vista, I have reinstalled Station Launcher (and now it doesn't respond and closes), I've ran everything in Windows XP SP2 mode, as administrator, and still the same thing. What is going on? No problems at all until tonight.

Greetings,

This sounds like a firewall issue. Open the exception list for your firewall and delete any entries that contain the words Everquest 2, EQ2, or Launchpad. Then restart your computer and try to run the game again by right clicking and select 'run as administrator'. The firewall should prompt you to allow or deny at that point. Allow the connection and that will probably solve the problem.

I have no firewalls running in my router or on my OS. They're both disabled. Again, I haven't changed a thing with my computer since I logged out last night.

Greetings,

Have you tried doing a full reset of your network? Turn off your computer and unplug your modem/router. Leave everything off for about 5-10 minutes. Then plug in the modem and wait for it to power up fully before doing the same with the router. Once power is completely restored to both, turn on your computer and try to log in again. Let us know if the issue persists at that point.

We're suddenly getting several contacts from people that are reporting connection issues with UK servers. It appears to be happening across several games. At the moment I do not know if the problem is on our end or with one of the connections leading to the UK servers. I'll post more information as I receive it.

Edit: I'm leaning towards a routing issue with a local ISP at the moment. It looks like some people trying to connect to the US from the UK are experiencing a similar issue.

More info, i couldn't log either of my 2 chars in Timerous Deep. Another char was in a tradeskill instance, logged her in, zoned out into big bend, but when i went into east freeport, i hung at connecting to zone server then booted. my other char was ok zoning into and out of her house in Starcrest. All these are on Runnyeye.

I can also logged into Kithicor server.

i am in the UK and on Virgin Media ISP, hope this helps

I cant get past the "patcher initializing" part of the launcher where it checks for updates and downloads. I ran the "everquest2.exe" direct which started the game but still unable to login from within the game.

All my toons are on Runnyeye.

My ISP is Virgin media , looked on their site and although it does not report any issues it is showing a red light for broadband

If anyone currently experiencing this issue could do the following and PM me with the given results, we'll be sending this issue to be checked into further.

--

Please open up the Start menu in Windows, choose the Run command, type "command" in the space provided, then hit Enter. If you're using Win2k type "cmd" instead of command. For Vista, "type command" at the search bar on the bottom of the Start Menu. The MS-DOS Prompt window should appear with the prompt, "C:windowsdesktop". For Win98/ME or Win2K/XP/Vista, type the following three DOS commands, one at a time, hitting Enter between each command, and waiting for the prompt to reappear: ipconfig /all > c:eq2info.txt tracert unrest.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt tracert najena.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt For those indicating an issue with the French server (Storms), please include the following traceroute as connectivity to it varies from the US based servers/datacenters: tracert storms.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt And for those indicating an issue with the German server (Valor), please include the following traceroute as connectivity to it varies from the all our other servers/datacenters: tracert valor.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt Please run these commands if you are using Win2k/XP/Vista (Only for Win2k/XP) pathping unrest.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt pathping najena.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt pathping befallen.everquest2.com >> c:eq2info.txt (This may take a few minutes to complete) Finally, upon completion of these commands, you will find a file labeled "eq2info.txt" on the root level of your C: drive. You can use the Find command from the Start menu to locate it. Open it and PM the results my way.

Why yes, yes you did. A thousand apologies!

In taking your submitted information, it does appear it was a seperate issue than everyone else had. However, though it is occuring on just one computer, it may be a network issue as well. Before I'd recommend anything of the sort for Port Forwarding, can you give this a try? We'll want to ensure no other background applications interfering with EQ2.

--

1. Select the START button.2. Select RUN, then type in "msconfig" (for Vista, type msconfig in the search bar at the bottom of the Start Menu)3. Press OK4. Select the STARTUP tab.5. In the list, uncheck all boxes EXCEPT for SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY. If you use Windows XP, please note that SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY will not be listed - just uncheck the entire list.6. Hit apply and then OK. Restart the computer and try the game again.

--
