I have a few questions about lvling AA which has been made very unclear by the people I have asked.

1. What is the best way to lvl AA?

2. Should I lock my quest xp when I turn in quest? Will that give me more AA XP?

3. How many AA points should I gain before I advance to the next lvl?

4. How do I gain AA from killing named Mobs?

5. What are AA runs?

6. If I was lvl 50 and I did a lvl 12 quest would I still get AA XP?

I have asked people in game and I dont think many of them really know because I get many diffrent answers. I am new to the game and I am lvling a shadowknight I have lvled my outfiter to 20 but have avoided lvling much because I don't want to [Removed for Content] myself by missing out on AA.

*I am asking about AA runs because a guy told me that he was going to take me on an AA run and all we did was the lvl 10 quest outside the city walls.

Thanks

Once you get to 80 you can get up to 200, so if you don't have many you will be facing a big grind. On a PvP server, you can only *SPEND* 1.5 times your level. So at level 10, you can only use 15 AA. You can earn as much as you want though.

4. How do I gain AA from killing named Mobs?

They released a new update where there is a star next to a named mob that you will get AA xp off of. As long as it is not gray, just kill it for the AA.

5. What are AA runs?

These usually only happen on PvP servers. A higher level will group with you and kill named that you usually coulnd't kill at your level, ie kill level 50 named mobs in PoF while you are still only level 10. These runs get you a lot of AA in a short amount of time. PvPers usually use them to get ahead of the curve in AA, though you can still quest and get the same about of AA, it just takes longer.

6. If I was lvl 50 and I did a lvl 12 quest would I still get AA XP?

Yes. The quest always gives the same amount of AA, but a lower level quest gives less AA.

Also, if you are new to PvP, I would suggest reading my pvp guide: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=432974

rather than start a new post i thought i'd just expand since this has already answered a few of my qeustions.

just had a look here: http://eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Alternative_Advancement

and this part stuck my eye:

To maximize achievement experience gain, only complete quests that are the same level, or lower, as your character.

Completing a quest higher in level than your character level will result in less achievement experience gain.

Out-leveled (grey) quests give the same achievement experience as even level quests

is this actually correct? i've seen so much contradicting info on achievement XP it's just silly, though it seems the rules on it change frequently, which i imagine is just adding to the confusion.

I know for sure that grey quests give the same achievement xp as even level quests give. AA XP is a fixed amount on a quest and doesn't change depending on your level. Therefore I doubt you get less AA XP if the quest is higher, would make no sense at all and sounds more like a bug if it's really like that. I never tested and cared about that and had no problems gaining 200 AA anyway

The adventure XP gained is a whole different story of course, and if you're using the new AA slider (or are level 80 already) this matters as well for AA. Since you get more XP for even conned quests than for grey (or probably a lot higher conned quests) you also get more AA XP converted out of it. If this makes a big difference is yet to be seen
