Anyone have any info on how to complete this quest in LoN museum?

I would like at least a little more of a hint as to what needs to be done for this quest. The NPC wants three cloaks, all three of which are in the museum, but there is no hint as to how to go about getting any of them. Are we supposed to buy/find all of them from LoN cards? If so, there had best be a REALLY nice reward from this quest.

EDIT - Ok so checked in LoN and there are no loot cards for any of the cloaks listed that this NPC is asking for, although all three are displayed in the museum. Not only that, but my quest journal lists the reward for this quest as being all three of the cloaks the NPC wants plus a backpack. Also, the quest is coming up in my journal under the Lore and Legend category.....

I think this one needs to go back in the oven - it seems a bit half-baked at the moment.

I was in there and got the quest with a level 1 toon on test_copy but the mouse-over on the key that was there said I had to be 80 so I couldn't do the quest.

Did you try clicking on the key next the the backpack mannequin? Does it do anything when you are 80 and/or grouped/solo?

I don't have any 80's on test so I can't check it out until PvP is flipped off on test_copy.

hth

Can you cntrl click the cloaks and take screenshots of them? Maybe someone can visually identify them.

My guess is these are all new rewards from the NEXT LON expansion.

The in game quests requires you to collect 3 of the cloaks in LON (yes buying/acquiring LON ITEMS)You are rewarded back the 3 cloaks and a new backpack item/appearance item.

This is just a new ploy to buy LON cards. I am more interested on how they plan to add a new heroic instance accessed via only LON cards.

I've done a bit of checking and none of the items in the LoN museum on test and test_copy are available in LoN right now. I can't seem to find any information about upcoming expansions either - Storm Break was released not too long ago but they are not in that set.

If it is that Spider looking cloak it is a reward from a scenario . That redish one was from the recent loot tournament.

Ok, so after another testing, I would love a clarification by the devs : - the quest is given within the LoN museum and is asking for 3 (different & new) cloaks that are displayed within the museum -> we can assume it's LoN cloaks ? - the quest is giving as a reward one of the 3 cloaks or a backpack. This pack is currently shown, in the quest journal, as being a 32 slots bag. In the LoN museum, the backpack is shown on a mannequin as being a true backpack (so a cloak with special graphics and not a bag). Can we assume the reward will be a backpack that is showing and not a "normal" bag ? If the cloaks are obtained through LoN, could those cloaks be the reward of 3 new senarios and not a true loot card obtained through the buying of LoN boosters ? Nobody should have to pay to be able to finish a quest. (btw, the next LoN expension is probably far away as the last one was just released) 'and yes, those cloaks are not listed as Loot cards in the current LoN collection manadger)

It gives you an additional item if you manage to collect all three cloaks. Its not a needed item at all, and is only marganially useful. The quest is not nothing more than a means to provide a reward for getting all three cloaks.

It's why I asked my question. In the quest log, we see a 32 slot bag with 20% weight reduction, so a regular bag (even if it's a big one) and not a cloak with the appearance of a backpack.

But I don't understand why the topic was moved too.

I am glad you all brought up the fact that this quest is related to LoN cards. I don't have any LoN packs but the ones they give us free and I don't believe I have any with cloaks on them. I know I haven't received a loot card for a cloak.

That being the case, I won't waste time visiting the museum. No point in looking at stuff I'm not going to be able to get or taking up a slot for a quest I can't complete.

I find this whole business of LoN very confusing and I am not alone. Some of the best players on test have tried to understand how to play the game and have failed.

I don't even understand why it is part of the game as there is more stuff to do in game than hours in the day. Our developers are the best and they sure know how to keep us busy.

One thing I do know about LoN is that more players might buy packs if there were more loot cards available in each pack. Even if we don't play the game some of us might be willing to buy packs if we were guaranteed at least one really nice item.

I can't even imagine buying a pack with the current loot system. On my second account I got only one loot card out of 38 packs and the item wasn't even that great. I would have to be crazy to buy packs with that low a loot reward level.

This leads me to my last point. EQII is probably the stingiest game I have ever played. You would think loot and rares came out of the paychecks of the EQII team.

I have harped on this before, and there has been some improvement, but not nearly enough. Content wise EQII is unparalleled. It is a crying shame such a fantastic game leaves me frustrated, every time I log off, that loot and rares are so hard to acquire. No player should ever log out of the game feeling they are leaving work instead of a game.

id bet you get a card for the key and the zone in the key can drop the 3 cloaks that are needed

ariastama wrote:

id bet you get a card for the key and the zone in the key can drop the 3 cloaks that are needed

Its a bit wierd.LON is on both eq2 and eq1.So a KEY loot card would need a zone in both eq1 and eq2. Any heroic zone would need to be an appearance armour zone because anything truly game changing would cause major issues.

and since the quest was mentioned in the patch notes one would surmise the quest was IN GAME.

Apologies folks! The cloaks required for this quest are not obtainable currently in game. Unfortunately, that does make this uncompletable for the time being.

Thanks again for the heads up on this issue, and we're sorry for the confusion there. And thanks for all your hard work testing these for us.
Here is my guess pertaining to this quest

First, you get all three of the cloaks in game, then complete the quest to get all three back plus a backpack. The backpack can probably be examined to turn it into an appearance item.

The key in the museum is probably a loot card from the next LoN set like the cloaks. Since its single use I don't know if it will be common like potions or more on the rare side like the mounts and so forth. Also I wonder what the 'unique' zone is, if its a dungeon randomly generated on the spot, that'd be pretty cool, but likely its the same dungeon every time we go into it.

I noticed there were no mounts.

What I really find strange though is that they haven't even announced the next set yet (to the best of my knowledge) and we already know what the loot cards are. I am wondering if this is the final version of the sets loot cards or if more will be added later/changed.

I've gotten quite a lot of loot cards and such from LoN since it's started, but even I don't think it would be fair to expect us to get three different loot card items and use them all on the same character just for a backpack.

The cloaks need could simply be rewards from one of the limited time senarios (might need to buy a few cards to complete, but not outta hand like needing a whole box, least that my hope anyway), since they are not available at the moment, though, there's not much we can do without any information anyway.. looks this quest needs a little more consultation from the LoN team to

I like the idea of it though.

I really hope that all 3 cloaks arent going to be from opening packs alone. The good thing about these cloaks tho are that they are graphically boring (in my opinion), except maybe the crystal one, and they have very poor effects attached to them. So they may not be all that valuable in the long run, tho when you tag them to this quest they spike considerably for the collectors out there. I just hope that they split them up a little and make people actually play LoN to do a "LoN" quest, and not just buy and open packs. They could make one a final scenario reward, a reward for beating a new raid maybe, and one in a pack or participating in a tourney or earning a certain number of points in sprints for a month for instance. Tho if they do put all 3 in openable packs, I hope that the cloaks are made much more common than previous sets or this quest will be impossible for many people aside from the diehards, rich, and LoN merchants.
