Hi,

I've been looking for a laptop that could allow me to also play EQ2.

It seems to me that most have integrated graphics cards that presumably cripple performance, if they let the game run at all (my current Thinkpad just won't run EQ2 at all because of this).

So what options would I have for a reasonably lightweight travel laptop that would let me log in and play?

Budget around $2K but feel free to recommend anything

I have a Gateway 6860FX that runs EQ2 nicely on High Quality.

I often run 2 accounts on it at the same time....have to turn down the settings some when doing that but its not bad.

I never thought I would see the day I owned a Gateway but this laptop has been a gem. For around $1400 that it was a year ago its hard to beat in terms of performance for a gaming laptop.

I believe they gatway has put out at least 2 newer generations of it. Ive had mine now for just over a year and its still going strong.

The Gateway FX P-7805u isn't bad. Though you could certainly afford better with your budget, it would certainly hold it's own for most EQ2 usage.

Newegg is a great place for some laptop shopping too, though I don't have any other direct recommendations past the site itself.

OK, thanks, looks like I may not need to spend as much as I thought
