I am noticing on test that when I run backwards, I run slower now than when I run forward. It's never been this way . . . why change now, after 5 years? Yeah, I know, realistically it's impossible to run as fast backwards as you do forwards . . . but if I wanted realism, I'd cancel my account and spend my time in RL . . .THEN I think, "Wait a minute, let me get on my carpet!" And sure enough . . . slow going backwards on that too. That TOO never had a penalty moving backward, which is why I always chose and preferred the non-animal mounts to the animal ones. See, now I can understand the animal mounts not moving as fast backward if you're looking for "realism" . . . but it's a flying frikkin' carpet! It should be able to move the same speed in ANY direction if you're going for realism! And if you want "balance" . . . well that's not realistic now either, is it. Realistically NOTHING is "balanced" in the world . . . otherwise we'd ALL be independently wealthy and own robot slaves who'd do everything our hearts desired . . . that is, until they kill us all and take over . . . but meh . . . everything would be balanced out then, too.

Bring back our original backwards movement speeds! ESPECIALLY on carpets, disks, or any other non-animal type conveyance!

- Charn

P.S. - And SINCE it's a "flying frikkin' carpet" . . . at LEAST give it the ability to "skim" over water so we don't have to swim it if we don't want to.

P.P.S. - And yeah, I know all the old zones are just "movie sets", i.e. they're only made to be looked at at a certain angle and viewpoint or the realism is gone and you can see all the "unfinished" work behind the set, so that's probably ONE of the reasons why you don't implement flying mounts, but you CAN design any NEW zone with flying mounts in mind . . . and make them unusable in the older zones . . . (Okay, so my cousins play WoW (I've TRIED to convert them . . . but they have Macs . . . and Sony doesn't support Mac play) and I was flying around on their flying mount and dear GOD it was AWESOME!!! That almost (almost, mind you) makes me wanna try that game out) . . . just think about it, will yas?

Egads! not the slow backwards again.

It was terrible when they did that to horses, but I thought that was corrected a while back ago. I dearly hate that. Please remove the slow backwards.

Isn't this a PvP thing?

If it's a PvP thing, then only have it on PvP not PvE. I remember when they were just considering having a PvP server and promised that PvP would not interfer with PvE. O yeah right

I hope you are right about it being only PvP.

Well, Test_Copy is a PvP server atm, so it has teh PvP rule set.

If this is indeed a PvP thing, then it would be on Test_Copy right now, much as the inability to send a tell or view chat channels off server is. Its not like they are going to write up a seperate rule system for testing PvP content...

Noaani wrote:

Isn't this a PvP thing?

Well if that's true thank THANK the gods for that. Although it does seem cool test is now PvP . . . I've always wanted to try that, and now I can with impunity.
