I am having trouble logging in today. I have been receiving this error message after launching game from the Station Launcher. The message pops up within about 2-3 seconds os pressing the Launch button. I will try reinstalling the Station Launcher as my next troubleshooting step unless someone else knows of a fix. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Well let's take a look at what you're working with first off. Can you relay your DxDiag information (instructions found here) and past the results on this thread?

Greetings,

This isn't the test server, is it?

Most of the time we see this issue it is related to a corrupted UI file. You may want to make backups and then delete the following files and folders:cache foldereq2_recent.inieq2_default.iniEverQuest2.exee q2.iniAs well as the character specific files, these will appear as such:Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniSt ationname_characters.ini

If deleting these files does not resolve your issue, you can restore your backed up files and folders and retain your hotkeys, contact lists, and display settings.

I deleted all of the files and still had the same problem. I am using Profit_UI. No, I am not logging into Test, but I did try that and got the same error. I am going to try a fresh install of the game and will post the results.

Well, after 16 hours of downloading I was very disapointed to find that I am still having the same problem. I have made no changes to my computer or router that I can think of. I have no idea what to do now. I hope you have a solution to this problem. It has been 6+ days since I have been able to play and I am bored out of my mind. Thank you for your quick responces so far, and I hope to hear back from you soon with a solution.

Greetings,

I have seen a few issues reported with the features on your specific graphics card and that might be the problem here. Open the graphics card control panel and disable 'adaptive antialiasing' and their power management feature. I'm sorry, but I do not remember the specific name they use for that power management feature.

In some cases those features have caused problems liek the one you are reporting. Let us know if the issue continues at that point.

I was searching through some old forum posts and seem to have found a solution. I was able to play after following the steps listed below. Hopefully this is not just a temporary fix. If I have any more trouble I will try the settings on the graphics card. Thank you for all of your help.

TSR-DanielH wrote:

In at least one case this has been corrected by performing a cleanboot on the computer. Before posting your information I would advise trying the following:

To disable background programs:1. Select the START button.2. Select RUN, then type in "msconfig" (for Vista, type msconfig in the search bar at the bottom of the Start Menu)3. Press OK4. Select the STARTUP tab.5. In the list, uncheck all boxes EXCEPT for SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY. If you use Windows XP, please note that SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY will not be listed - just uncheck the entire list.6. Hit apply and then OK. Restart the computer and try the game again.

That is one of the preliminary fixes we offer, though it didn't seem like an applicable solution to the problem first off. Alas, I'm glad to hear your issue is fixed!
