Ok I didnt see this brought up in the forums already, if someone knows another topic on this please link it and I will just add my notes to it otherwise, thanks

I noticed on the new reward system that on one of them it requires max alcohol tolerance. You know, I dont mind doing this if it doesnt cost me plat but so far what I see it will cost plat to raise this level to max. If someone knows a way to do level alcohol tolerance for free please let me know

I dont see a need for this ability in game so far so mine is of course not max for there is nothing it can be used on and is pretty useless in my opinion.

I figure I pay for this game once a month and for the past 4 years so I am stingy with my plat in game for one and also my real money when buying extra items for this game. I figure I have invested enough to be able to get rewards without paying for them now.

I dont pay for LON, I dont buy market place items, and I dont waste plat per say on titles I earned but it cost money to get(which I think is stupid also), this is just one example. I am not going to pay to raise my alcohol tolerance either for any rewards.

Titles- I figure I worked to earn them why am I having to pay for them?

Alcohol Tolerance- Not necessary in the game anyway to my knowledge why pay for leveling this?

Plat- I use this to upgrade 4 level 80 toons armor, spells etc I dont usually blow it on junkand even though Im on an exchange server I dont farm, I raid and I do not buy plat either

Basically if someone knows how to level this without paying for it then let me know otherwise I think its useless anyway either take it off the reward system as a requirement or make it free to level it.

Nothing is free, and the Achievements are pretty much entirely optional / fluff.

If you don't want to spend money leveling alcohol tolerance... then don't. Does that achievement even HAVE a reward?

Find someone who has a keg in their home/hall. You can drink from it for free. There are several versions out there, including one that gets you drunker if there are more people around/using it.

Also, find a provi to make you some Hair of the Dog drinks so you can sober up more quickly.

Leveled mine on live the other day because I saw this achievement on test. I think it cost me about 35 gold and 30 minutes of time at the bar in EFP to go from about 150 to 400.

I know in the past you could get tolerance skill-ups as you sobered up. I do not know if they took that out, however.

One other thing is that you can get alcoholic drinks relatively cheap. I think the cheapest ones are 1s each -- even if it takes a lot of them, that's not too expensive (A 6g adept book would by 600). And if alcohol tolerance will be like the other skills that will skill up faster the farther away from the cap they are, it may take far fewer drinks to get to max than it does now on Live.

Hair of the Dog is a low level recipe - doesn't cost much to make.

As for alcoholic tolerance - GM events also give them out for free for parties and my favorite " Suicide Leap" in Butcherblock Mts.... when u get drunk, run off a cliff like lemmings and try to hit the center of a huge round carpet and oh, yeah, u have to die - so no glide nor free fall or safe fall! heh!

gals of the 'hood

celestina, eldra, nelida, alvane and slizz - gourmet chef

Does this new faster skill up change also include alcohol tolerance if you skill is way under the level cap? And how do you raise the skill? In the moment you consume an alcoholic drink or randomly while the drink lasts?

Bremer what I have noticed so far is the drinks at the bartender you can just keep right clicking constantly without waiting on them to run out but it takes tons of them to skill up from 5/400, that is my original complaint and Im still complaining

This is one achievement I will not be trying to get, though my swimming is maxed (without the easy mode). I don't drink in RL, and the effect is annoying at least, nauseating at most.

Personally, I feel this should NOT be an achievement seeing as for a game that won't let us wear a bikini, they advocate getting drunk?

Lol I have about 20 toons that all have homes open to visitors and they all have Snoggles and Brell kegs. Not to mention some have punch bowls, whisky bottles, etc. that serve intoxicating beverges. All you need to do is visit some homes and drink to your hearts content. Might have a fun time of seeing other people's homes though they might be bit blurry.

Prior to the announcements of acheivements, my daughter went on a tear to raise all the skills she could to max. (apparently just because she could, NOT so much for the rewards, though she's thrilled now of course).

One day I walked into the tradeskill area and found her at a work bench with a big bowl of egg nog next to her on the floor...errr..Aure, what ya doing...getting drunk and working on tinkering she says. Now, THAT's insanity....

I think the issue with the kegs and such now is that you no longer gain tolerance skill ups as you sober up -- you only seem to gain them when taking a drink. A while ago (it seems to have been this way for a long time now) you used to gain skill ups as you sobered up, so the kegs were decent for getting your skill up.

Since they make you max-drunk, now it's only one chance at a skillup (when you get drunk initially) for each time you use it, whereas before you might get 5+ skill-ups as you sobered up from fully blasted to sober.

I've noticed in the past, that if I zoned out of my house while I was drunk, I would get a skillup. Dunno if that works anymore though.

When they had big GM parties on Unrest, they had an NPC that was selling booze for like 1c...or was it 1s...each (BTW, the booze and "sober up" drinks were "no-zone". While everyone was in the special GM guild hall and socializing, I was standing by the NPC and getting my dr00nk on. I think I ended up going from 45 to 375 within 30 minutes and only for a few silver...or was it gold...either way, the "sober up" drinks didn't seem to work at off, and I had to let the haze fade with time.

I did find that Brell's Everlasting brew seems to be leveling me up in alcohol tolerance, the keg is located in our guild hall. It seems to be leveling really slow though I have only gone from 5/400 to 13/400 so far so its annoying to say the least.

I just still feel this is useless anyway and I dont see why we will have to bother with this at all to get rewards through this new system being implemented.

There's a theory out that says the higher your alcohol tolerance the more likely you are to just get knocked out as opposed to dying during a fight. I don't know if this is true but I can tell you since I maxed out my alcohol tolerance I've noticed many times that I'm knocked unconscious instead of dying which allows my healers to keep me up. My evidence is anecdotal at best but if it's something that might possibly be helping me survive then why not go ahead and get the skills up there. The more advantages you have the better right?

So ur healers are prolly using those more often.

But since Sony has decided not to impose a minimum level on players, it isn't in their best interest to encourage being drunk as an admirable skill level. I have no issue with the kegs and the celebrations. But do think when making it a targeted skill level, it is pushing the envelope in a multi aged game. Personally, I wouldn't have a child playing this game anyway, just because I believe the content is too mature. But since those who own the game have chosen not to limit it, they need to be cognizant of the implications.
