Hi...

I used to play the orig EQ back in 2000 and decided to play EQ2. So far I am disappointed.

After 7 hours of patches I have been able to boot into the game once. I played, got to level six and then logged out. A few hours later I have decided to log in and play. That was twenty minutes or so ago. I am stuck with this lousy interface scanning the EQ2 files. It says Analizing and seems to be taking forever. 63% done.

Do you expect people to wait 20 - 40 minutes to play the game? Am I missing something here?

I came over from WoW where it takes literally less than a minute to log in your toon from the time you click the WoW icon, to the time you play. If you all want people to subscribe to your game, it has to perform better than this.

To prove what I am saying, take a look at the time stamp of my last post. I am still trying to login now. I am past the char screen and slowly loading into the game. 45 min to login is absurd. ATM I can't believe I bought this game.

Greetings,

The issue you're describing definitely isn't how the game is designed to operate. It sounds like something on your end is blocking the connection or download. Are you running Windows Vista or version 7? Is your network behind a router? Assuming you have a broadband connection and a decent computer, the initial download shouldn't take more than 4 hours. The scanning when you log in should only take a minute or 2 at max.
