I'm just newly returned to the game (I've been gone since about a month after Rise of Kunark) and am having a Launcher issue that I don't know how to fix. Everytime I run the patcher, I get a "lp_plugin.exe has stopped working error" and even after I hit Close Program, the file scanning continues but it then gets stuck at Update Complete and the button never changes from Update to Play.

So I decide to try and bypass the Launcher and just run the game, itself. When I do, this error pops up, yet I'm still able to ignore it and interact with the login screen:

http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k...85/EQ2Error.jpg

Upon choosing my keyboard setting and giving my username and password, it attempts to connect for a few seconds before saying "Attempt to connect has failed, servers may be busy. Please try again in a few minutes."

I am TOTALLY stumped. I have NEVER had this happen before. Is it because the computer I now own runs on Vista? I even tried running in compatability mode and as adminnistrator and acheived the exact same results. If someone knows what's going on and how to get the game working, I'd be EXTREMELY grateful.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you are on Vista, for lp_plugin locate it on te hard drive, right click, select properties and set to run as administrator

Sounds like you are running the old launcher, trying the new station launcher for patching

http://launcher.station.sony.com/

Here's the full set of Vista steps if you haven't done these yet. That would be the most common cause for the issue you're experiencing:

1. Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.6. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.7. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".8. Right click on the icon and select "Run as Administrator"
