View Full Version : When you check a spell scroll on the broker...

Now that entire spell lines have the same name (except for the number, and that is not consistent across tiers) I find it can be confusing to check scrolls on the broker. When you examine the item, it compares it to your version of that spell, even if you have a later version in that same spell line. So, for instance, if you examine Five Rings II master, it will compare it to your version of Five Rings II, even if you already have Five Rings III. I'd like to see this changed so version that is compared to what you are checking on the broker is the latest you have in that spell line -- so Five Rings II Master would be compared to Five Rings III Apprentice, for instance.

Personally, I like seeing what version I have now. (I collect masters... well, should I say collected, since I have them all now hehe)

Also, the fact that they are different spells may be a complication in something like this. But I think it would be a nice option to have as something you could choose to turn on via a checkbox in the options menu.

I don't actually see any reason for a change to be made.

People can easily put a level range in the boxes in the advanced search so as to narrow it down to the exact spell you need. It's not that hard, takes maybe a second more than just typing in the top box.

Or you could type in the full name (including numbers) of the spell you want. Or the first part of it and the numbers, or the most identifiable part of it and the numbers. As long as you include the numbers you should get at least mostly the ones you want(might get a few of higher levels when you type I or II but those would be red so should be obvious. I will say I've not searched like this, I always use the advanced search I have previously set up to search for any masters I need, I only use the normal search for non-spell items.
