Hi All,

Everytime I log into the game, OOC channels 1-9 show up in a chat window where I don't what it. I move it back to my OOC window, but next log in... there it is...

It's not a huge Tech Support issue, but it's annoying as heck!

I have the chat_allowduplicatechannels 1 in my eq2.ini file, other than that line, no other files have ever been touched.

Any ideas

It sounds like the UI file isn't getting saved correctly when you exit the game. If you're running Vista, try starting the game using these steps:

1. Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.6. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.7. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".8. Right click on the icon and select "Run as Administrator"

Then move the chat channel after logging in and hopefully it will retain the settings at that point.

I dont know if that tidbit helps. Again, low priority, but thanks for the reply.

Greetings,

You might want to try removing a couple of files from your Everquest 2 directory so that you can set up UI from default. You can do that by moving these 2 files to a different directory:

Servername_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.iniStation name_characters.ini

Both should be located in your Everquest 2 folder. Then you can try setting up the chat window correctly, relog, and see if the chat setting stay. It might be a pain to set up the UI from default but it might correct the issue. If it doesn't then you can always revert to the old UI files, though.

Your current UI settings should be stored in ServerName_CharacterName_EQ2_uisettings.xml (an xml file instead of the binary encoded ini file).
