I am just to a point of complete exhaustion here. I have been trying to purchase a subscription forsome time now with my debit card. I am positive there is enough funds in it, there are no holds, yet everytime I use it to try and subscribe it gives me an error 104 message and just says the card can't be accepted, call the bank, etc.

The funds are fine. The information is good. It is a debit card but also a mastercard(which means it is accepted for sure), can anyone give me a heads up as to what I'm doing wrong?? :/

Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot we can do today

I'm going to move this to the billing forum and I suggest that you contact CS on Monday to get things cleared up.

Also, make sure you keep an eye on your account to ensure that you don't get charged in spite of the error codes.

Thanks for trying to help me Kiara. :/ It's frustrating. I was planning on spoiling myself this weekend but come Monday I'll be back to the University on campus in the morning, back home late in the evening type run. /sigh

How do I register my mastercard debit card for the mastercard security? It seems like it's suppose to be automatic?

Ok, it took some digging but I signed up for the Mastercard Secure thingy. Now, when I try and subscribe on station launcher it doesn't prompt me for that password but gives me the same old run around? Maybe it will take a few hours? /shrug

I've gone into the my account section and where it prompts me for my information there is no image showing the Mastercard Secure program. I swear I saw it before on a page while trying to troubleshoot this, but I'm not able to find anything on it now. I think that's what's preventing me from sending the charge in.

/frustrating. Guess I'll search more.

Didn't work. I can't even find verification now that Sony uses the Mastercard Securecode system. Till Monday I guess.

Greetings,

Without looking at the credit card events for the account, it would be hard to say what is causing this issue. If you could PM me with your station name then I might be able to give you specific information.

That said, there is currently a known issue with some banks. A change in the law has required us to move to a $0 authorization system. The problem is caused by the fact that banks are not required to support the new system until later this year. Once they switch to the same setup then everything should work fine, but in the meantime it may be necessary to use a different card or game cards. Again, I don't know if this is the case for you and some banks have already switched to the new system. It's a possibility, though.

Just FYI, we tried using a debit card that we have successfully used many times in the past to resub an account for my son. It wouldn't go through, we kept getting the error 104. We used the same card, minutes later, to purchase the Forest Giant Tournament pack for the same account in question through the LON store. So, its not an issue with the card, its an issue with billing and EQ2. We then went back to EQ2 after the LON store was able to bill the card just fine and tried the subscription again, and it would not work. We used a game card instead later that day, and haven't tried the debit card again but seeing this issue a few times in this forum now I think there may be a problem within your system. (Not being critical, just offering this as a reference in case the information sets a light off in someone's head as to what the issue might be)

Just wondering: will this new Federal Law that is preventing people from paying for EQII also affect international customers? And what can we do to get past it?

The 104 error is tied to the card issuer not allowing zero dollar authorization charges. Please contact the card company to find out whether or not they support this.
