I go to the locations from Eq2 Traders - I see the shelf fungus but there is no way I can harvest it. My "hand" never indicates I can get some

What am I doing wrong?

You must have the Tupta TS daily quest active in your journal to be able to collect the items like the fungus.

I am amazed at the length she goes to to kill tradeskilling when faction is involved. This sucks beyond belief -- I should be able to harvest this stuff at any time - not just when I have a quest active. That design needs to be reworked and never put in the game again.

I don't see it as a problem. Just harvest extras of materials while you have the quest logged.

Almost all quest in game do not let you collect items needed to completed without having the quest logged, and all of the tradeskill missions are this way.

I didn't realize we were penalized if we didn't overharvest when we had a quest in our book. That is just plain stupid - why should Domino care if you have quest in your book or not - just let people harvest -- I know have to wait until tomorrow morning to harvest enough goo for my Grobb task. I find this entire faction question a total pita to get a book which should be heirloom.

Then when you have the quest, harvest to your heart's conent, do the quest and keep the rest for next time.

Don't be chidlish and throw a tantrum shaking your rattle at Domino because of a game mechanic that's existed from day 1.

Honestly.. I still don't understand why you'd want to harvest a quest item for a quest you do not have.. (Edit: Nevermind, I do understand now.)
