I have tried a number of times to log in this morning. I tried rebooting, removing my custom UI, file scan, and I keep crashing to desktop immediately after character screen with a client error. Has anyone else had a problem? Thanks...

Trill

Thanks for replies...I have to do a shard mission with a friend...but then I will redo eq2.ini and see if that helps.

Trill

Renaming my eq2.ini in the Testserver directory to eq2old.ini fixed it!

There seems to be quite a compatibility issue with (perhaps) custom UIs in this update. I got the same error and I use ProfitUI. I also got blue-screened while downloading the updates. This has never happened to me on this computer before - the one I play on is a very "clean" computer - just the minimal programs + EQ2.

See my post on how to run Profit on test in this forum --

basically just delete the quest journal xml

Yes, I deleted the quest journal file in Profit and got right in. I also ended up deleting the achievements mod because for some reason it was only showing one item on the fury and shadows trees.

The next test update should include a crash fix for third party UIs.

I tried changing the EQ2.ini, and remiving my custom UI. But I am still crashing while loading. Any ideas?

Ok.. I had the same problem.. When I went to look for eq2.ini to change it, it wasn't there! Apparently the patcher just didn't include it when updating, nor were any of the other .ini's there - eq2_default and eq2_recent. I copied all three from the main (live) eq2 directory, reran the patcher, and I'm in. Prior to this I also stripped all custom ui files. Now I guess I'll try installing Profit.

Hope this helps someone..
