View Full Version : Bug: new GPU shadow maps option.

<p>The GPU shadow maps resolution, when set to 3x, gives very odd "offset" results.  On the wings here:</p><p><img src="http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/2319/eq2000000p.jpg" width="606" height="567" /></p><p>Also, some people might have computers that can handle higher quality GPU shadows at further distances. Couldn't that quality/distance slider be split into two separate options, so everyone can find a balance themselves?</p><p>To be honest, GPU shadows look pretty terrible at anything but high quality, however the tiny radius they are rendered at on that setting looks very silly.  I've just gone back to CPU shadows for the time being, but that incurs a larger framefrate penalty. GPU shadows currently on live are better, and they're not even that great.</p>

<p>I dont know if the bug i have falls under this category but over live server, i dont have those "Artefacts":</p><p><img src="http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee200/Zerat_ca/EQ2_000005_Cropped.jpg" width="674" height="466" /></p><p>and i'm setted on the lowest graphics possibles.... tho it happens the same way with higher graphics.</p><p>Tree at a distance or in a tunnel, same deal</p>

Any chance we can pick a higher distance for the shadows to render? Even when I lower the rest of my graphics, I always leave the shadows pegged because it provides so much realism.
