I was looking forward to the new /save_layout and /load_layout commands since they'd (hopefully) allow for some testing with various decorations without having to worry about re-arranging things back the old way if you don't like how they turn out.

So, I tested it.

There is a bug with /load_layout currently that, while placing items at the proper locations, fails to place them at the proper size. It seems to be pretty random, but it has, so far, affected carpets and tables the most (having them jut through walls is just not right). Zoning out and back in didn't seem to make a difference.

Also, when you first use /load_layout <filename> you get a verification saying "Starting Layout Changes". You never get a confirmation about when the changes are completed.

Finally, I wonder -- are we required to remain in our house while it's getting redecorated or can we zone out?

D.

It seems we overlooked the scale of the item in the layout file. This is an easy fix and we'll make sure this gets done ASAP.

Restoring a layout is normally very fast. It should only take a couple of seconds. If you choose to leave your house immediately after restoring the layout, it should be ok. This brings up a good point though, and we can probably make sure the house zone doesn't unload itself until the layout if fully restored.
