Lately i have been crashing whenever i attempt to type in the chat box, hit 'R', attempt to enter everquest from the back door, or attempt to edit macros.

I'm using XP sp3, .net framework 3.5.

What i have tried: Deleting Cache files, UI files, UI Settings Files, Deleting the Everquest 2 exe, I have updated Microsoft Service pack 3, .net framework, and i have even re-installed everquest. Still no fix. SOE tech support has been helpfull and quick to respond but still no resolution to the problem, just thought i would see if anyone out there has had the same trouble or knows the fix.

Greetings,

This issue sounds very odd. I have never seen a crash related to the chat window that couldn't be corrected by deleting the UI files. Could you give us some additional information about what happens when you crash? Does it go to desktop or character select? Any information you can provide would be helpful.

When it crashes i mean the game client crashes to desktop. There is a windows Windows error report that comes with it.

I actually thought i had fixed it last night. I was able to get into the game, stay in and use the chat, edit macros, et c. but today it started to occur again. I am no longer able to use the backdoor or use chat.

Any system specs, or error reports you need let me know i will be happy to provide in order to finally resolve this. It is starting to get annoying, no point in paying for a game that i can not play.

Could you tell me what you did when you thought you had it fixed? Also, some basic system specs would be helpful.

Do you use Microsoft office on that computer and did you run it before/after this issue started? One of the Microsoft office programs has been known to corrupt the Arial font pack and that could be causing the crashes in your game. If that's the case then reinstalling the font pack from a website or from the Windows CD may correct the problem.
