Hi Im sorry if this question comes up alot so here goes

I try to start up eq2, and it either says FATAL ERROR, or that I am not connected to the internet (which I am connected), this has happened before, but it must have resolved itself because it worked within the next hour, but this has lasted about 12 hours and nothing has changed it just keeps giving the errors, any help would be appreciated thanks

Greetings,

Is this still happening or has it resolved itself like before? If it is still happening then we will probably need some additional information in order to diagnose this for you. Can you provide some basic system specs and more detail about how/when it crashes? The first section of your dxdiag would be helpfull as well.

I have a problem like this as well. Once I get into the game it runs fine, but I will get a crash on startup most of the time I try to launch the game. I have a phenom II X3 720, a geforce gtx 260, 4gb of memory and windows 7 64-bit rc1. Sometimes it will give me an error message with a d3d render, but most of the time it will just crash with no error message.

Greetings,

When you start the game are you choosing your character from the launchpad window or are you loggin into character select. If you are not doing so already, try logging into the character select screen(do not select a character before hitting play on the launchpad). Then try logging into the game by selecting a character from there. Let us know if that has any effect.

Unfortunately it didn't seem to help. I will hear the windows asterisk sound several times and then I will get the eq2 has stopped responding message. It doesn't matter if I am using windowed or full screen.

edit: I can't be certain that this is the cause, but after closing xfire I have been able to launch the game several times without any problems. Do you think that could be the problem or is it just a coincidence ?

I was pretty sure that the problem was resolved. Are you running an older version of the Xfire client? If so, you'll probably want to update to the most recent version.

I'm using the latest version, but it works every time with it off. I can open it up in the game though.
