Our brilliant coders and designers have come up with a new feature that each day increases the fabled drop rates in one dungeon. The welcome screen will display which dungeon currently has the increased drop rate. “But Brenlo, right now it says None! I want my Hot Zone!” Do not fret my friends, we will be turning it on soon.

Really ? Were just gonna hand out fabled loot to people now? Why stop there? Make a system where people dont even have to kill mobs to get the best loot in the game, people can just log in and be level 80 and fully fabled the day they activate their subs.

This is a pretty big slap in the face to people that spent well over 500 hours farming instances for drops.

Ah, another overreaction where people think the best instanced loot will just rain down on everyone that wants it simply because it's a "Hot Zone."

Over reaction indeed. RNG will still play a huge factor.

What is it you dont understand about "Increased Drop Rates" ?

I have 0 problems with that system, if they also nerf most powerfull items. You know just like avatar loot, so that it is "in line with progression".

Who gives a crap.. If every one has fabled so be it. It doesn't change my game playing at all.

Should definitely nerf Najena's Ring of Readiness and other heroic drops now.

It raises average level of player power, and with it average level of difficulty is raised (to make up for powerfull items).

Wonder why TSO instances are so different from EoF? Because of loot people got.

I sell trading cards. They have things such as "hot boxes". Special boxes with complete runs of the product in it. Some can have some pretty intense values. In the more then 9 years they've been making these hot boxes, I've found two...and as a dealer I open TONS of product. This addition of hot boxes (at least in the area I work in) has had such a minor influence, it's un-noticable. At least wait to see how *hot* the zones are before deciding the sky is falling. It adds alot more weight to an arguement.

I'll still log on, build a group , do raids or what ever.. Nothing will change but every one will have fabled..

The only issue I see is them that want and don't want others to have.. Just saying..

Keep in mind that hot zones are just an increased drop rate. This doesn't mean guaranteed fabled. You could still run the zone and not see a fabled item. And as someone mentioned, if you do get a fabled drop, it might not necessarily be the one you were after. Also keep in mind that there are lots of zones that rotate. So if you're looking for a specific item from a specific zone, it may only become the hot zone once or twice a month.

This is hardly "easy mode". But at the same time, it does provide a significant bonus and encourage people to run these zones much in the same way that the Daily Mission does.

I would appreciate a clue as to where to get more drops. Am a casual gamer and after 4 years I finally hit lvl 80 on my 1st toon, So having an idea where to go would be great as I am plat poor and need all the help I can get.

Merovius@Butcherblock wrote:

What is it you dont understand about "Increased Drop Rates" ?

If a drop rate is doubled from 1% to 2% or even quintupled to 4% does it really have an effect? All it does is mean the guy who ran the zone 120 times now only has to run it 80 times to get the drop. Since there are more than 1 fabled item per zone and the zones will rotate it has even less of an effect other than to encourage people to still run the instances once they hit 200 AA and have 150 shards in the bank.

Its jumping to conclusions like this that make drinking the hater-aid against raiders so dang easy.

How much does it increase the drop rate? 10, 20, 30?

Fyreflyte wrote:

Valanthe wrote:

If anything, the set bonuses are too low. They don't encourage people to use the Avatar Charm 2 sets over the Munzok set. Adding Crit Bonus would make them much more desireable.

The Munzok charms are harder to attain. The majority of raiders will have easier access to 2 avatar charms than to an avatar and a Munzok charm.

Youre balancing item strength based on rarity and availability so if these items become more common their strength needs to be adjusted accordingly. Or do you only make these arguments where it fits your modus operandi?

Note : Im not asking for nerfs because I dont want people to have the best caster ring in the game, I helped one of my guildies farm NHT for it. I want itemization to be balanced around mob difficulty and for it to make sense. Whats the point of putting in endless hours on x4 raids if they loot they drop is inferior?

Some items from heroic zones are already better then avatar drops (najena ring) and they are more common by default (lockout timer is shorter, instance vs contested). Is that a good progression?

1) This isn't feedback. This is flat out ranty flaming goodness. However, I am all out of patience with ranty flames.

2) This isn't in-testing, this is a feature that will be activated this weekend.

3) We're not handing out fabled loot without people having to work for it, however, the second we do, I'll let everyone know that it was the OP's idea and they should thank him.

4) Slap in the face is a term that gets way overused and I really don't think it means what you think it means...
