I played fine yesterday but today I log in and get stuck at the character select screen.

I select my character and login and get stuck at "Receiving Zone Info" where Eq2 locks up ("Not Responding" on the Windows task manager). After about one minute, it reloads the Character select screen. If I choose another character, it tells me that i already have a charcter in the world and try again later. If I reselect the original character: rinse and repeat.

I'm running vista and have had no problems until today. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Wlad

Same problem as WladBukowo Get to character select, choose a character (all of them seem to do this) hangs for a bit and goes back to character select. Also running Vista, using 64 bit.

Got it to work. It seems Station Launcher was downloading the wrong everquest2.exe.delta (or whatever its called) file. I launched the game directly from the the game folder and it scanned, downloaded another version and it worked. I could log in and kill stuff with no problems. So in the interest of science, I logged out, and ran Station Launcher. It scanned and downloaded another version of the "delta" file which caused the same problem that I described in the OP. So I rolled some chicken bones, launched the game from the game directory and it re downloaded the now-infamous "delta" file. The game works fine and I removed Station Launcher from my system.

Wlad

Hmm seems i can't get it to scan, i tried the one in the folder but its doing the same thing. Is there a way to repair or force it to check for a patch?

Yes I'm having the same problem. Mine started late last night, or early this morning. Just tried again and it's still happening. It's really random. At first I thought it was an issue zoning in to GH but it's doing it on alts that are not there. Sometimes you log in fine and then you try and change characters you get stuck.

It was a issue with todays hotfix, i have never had this issue. Furthermore i wasted 20 mins talking to a tech support person with SoE to tell me all the things that were not wrong.

To fix your problem just goto http://launcher.station.sony.com/ and download that launcher if you are not using it, and then it should work.

Has everyone with this problem been using the base EQ2 launcher instead of Station Launcher? That's certainly a good detail to know and pass along.

Looks like it, and thats probably the fix to use the other launcher.

My friend is having the same problem, also using the EQ2 launcher and not the Station Launcher. Please fix this, as many of us do not want to install another, larger program.

This is being looked into as we speak. It sounds like we have an out-of-date file on one of the patchers.

My problem was resolved when I did NOT use the Station Launcher. When I used the exe file from the game folder it worked fine. When I used Station Launcher the problem RECURRED. I removed Station Launcher so i can't say if the problem with Station Launcher is fixed.

Wlad

If you are choosing a character directly from the launcher then please try logging into the actual character select screen. I believe you can work around this issue as long as you do not select your character from the quicklaunch menu.
