just wanted to know if anyone else was having this issue...

after installing Windows 7 and all the current drivers i have had on several occiations where i enter a zone my ingame window stays correct however any menu and UI item begins to strobe at a very rapid rate. if i change the setting from Extreem quality where i normaly play to the dummyed down version i sometimes can get it to stabalize and play normal. i have installed all the current drivers and reinstalled the OS and game from scratch i still get this problem. the UI is also current and using a fresh install not just copying over the backup copy of the Sony folder.

any suggestons or comments are welcome, thanks in advance

The issue has been reported on other games also and it is not nvidia video chipset specific.

yes, i have 7600 installed and the issue still happens.... not sure exactly what else to try.... other then reinstalling Vista...but it is such a resource hog in comparision...haha or hope a new vid driver comes out and fixes the issue.

i also have Aion installed and am playing w/out any issues @ all... so not sure if this is a vid driver problem or an EQ vs. Win7 issue. i dont have any issues in any other program but EQ and only in certain zones. i hate /random problems /tough to troubleshoot

thx in advance for all the help/suggestions... @ least im eliminating things

I run Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit RTM, have an nVidia graphics card (8800GT), and am using driver version:190.38 and having no issues with eq2 whatsoever. I went to zones you mentioned and noticed no issues with menus or any other element. I tied unchecking shimmer and noticed no difference. Maybe try that driver version? Wish I had a better suggestion.

Silat of Nagafen

ok..... /boggle...

on a whim last night I uninstalled all of NVIDIA's programs from my box.... after reboot I installed the first Win7 driver 181._ _ and so far it seems to be solving my "strobing" issues. the down side, isn’t there always a down side, my colors are different.... almost "hyper-colors" they look like they are glowing... while this isn’t a terrible issue... I suppose it’s preferable to migraine creating strobing. BTW, i visited several of the zones last night where that UI issue has occoured in the past.../cross fingers that it stays this way.

i guess ill just wait and see what drivers they come out with in 1month for the public release.

Glowing Hyper-Colors? Sounds odd - can you take a screenshot of a good example and post it here? It would certainly help.

i did take some SS's and after uploading them to photobucket and accessing from my office computer.... i decided to take a look at them closley.... on my office screen the colors appear to be normal... thus i must conclude that its the NVIDIA drivers skuing my colors on my gaming maching.... the stobing has stoped... system is stable... so until they change out fo the 191 drivers... ill live wtih the "brite" colors on my gaming box.

thanks for all the suggestions....in the end... problem solved.../cross fingers it stays that way

I'm having this issue on a new install of Windows 7 now. Is using the older driver still the best way to temporarily fix this?

I did notice this only happens in windowed mode for me, when I switch to full screen the problem immediately stops.

Just wonder if there are there any plans to have this addressed in later updates.

Thanks in advance.
