Hi,

My problem occures after loging in on the LaunchPad. It brings me to the ''news page'' and starts the updates. Once this is done, windows finds a ''problem'' with the settings tool eq2 and must close the program. We cheked out all the compatibilities, system requirements and my computer exceeds them. So there is not the problem.

Being a real novice in this domain, can someone ligthen me up a little please.

Thanks!!

Well not sure about your current issue, but I am getting some weird error messages too, could have something to do with the servers being down right now ... not much for info on these formus at the moment.

I can actually get all the way into the character select before windows throws an error at me and closes the game.

Been playing solid (except for a few server crashed) for a little over a week now ... servers seem really unstable if you ask me, and there is very little notification except for the red print "All servers are down" in the update notes.

I hope once the servers are back up you are able to log in, I would wait and try then before doing anything drastic.

Actually, I've even tried while in the update notes '' all servers are up '' and it still does not want me getting the game started. Actually, there is an other error message that has added itself to the other. '' lp_plugin.eq2 '' isn't working....

Anything I can do to get these to things back in ordeur??

try installing the new launchpad

http://launcher.station.sony.com/

Make sure you configure it before you try launching the game also or you will be downloading a fresh copy of the game

Based on the description in the OP, it sounds like the program is trying to update one of the EQ2 cfg files and is getting blocked from doing so. Are you running Vista or Win7? If so, try following these steps:

1. Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.6. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.7. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".8. Right click on the icon and select "Run as Administrator"

If that doesn't work then you might want to try moving your EQ2 folder to a different directory. Anything placed in the program files directory is placed under a higher level of security than other folders.
