Ok, i've decided to have a go at the trial. I've played EQ2 before but decided to start a new account for the trial. So i install no probs from the homepage. I also have Vista so i go into the OS and change the user conditions and check sp2 etc... so it should run. Register a new account on the station homepage, verify account etc... but when i try logging in i get a disconnected from server message on the launcher. I tried all my other games LOTRO, AoC etc... and no problems. I did everything needed to make Vista run EQ2 and i'd like to play again (i played on xp before) but can't log in.

Any suggestions?

Be sure that you have done all that you needed to do. I know that you said that you had done evrything, but I had to do a lot to get the game to work on Vista... lol

[TECH] Video Walkthrough: Vista Compatibility and Running as Administrator

Updated - [TECH] Video Walkthrough: Download Cancelled Error or Play Button will not appear (Vista)

It plays but can't log on during the day for some reason. So a few hours last night after not being able to log onto the log in server yesterday. Come on again today and can't log into the game again. Like i say it's not my ISP. This game is too unstable and unreliable to be charged for. I can't believe i'm paying to not play. Sub cancelled when month is out and back to something else.

Select the START button.2. Select RUN, then type in "msconfig" (for Vista, type msconfig in the search bar at the bottom of the Start Menu)3. Press OK4. Select the STARTUP tab.5. In the list, uncheck all boxes EXCEPT for SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY. If you use Windows XP, please note that SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY will not be listed - just uncheck the entire list.6. Hit apply and then OK. Restart the computer and try the game again.
