In this test update, void knuckles were switched from 1-hand slashing to 1-hand crushing.

The void knuckles (monk offhand drop off of Pentaclypse in Palace of the Ancient One) were a highly desireable offhand weapon for the simple reason that as a SLASHING offhand, brawlers had access to tank adornments that could be placed on this weapon. Currently, there is an enormous disparity in the quality of adornments that can be placed on slashing vs. crushing weapons.

Slashing has available for fabled adorns:Smoldering Balanced Ayr Stone (3% riposte)Smoldering Lacerative Ayr Stone (+6 slashing)

Crushing has available for fabled adorns:Smoldering Concussive Counterbalance (+6 crushing)Smoldering Vigilant Counterbalance (+6 defense)

The offensive adornments for crushing vs. slashing are equivalent (+6 to the attack stat). HOWEVER, the defensive adornments are leagues apart. +6 defense is a very, very small amount of contested (aka, useless against raid mobs) avoidance, while 3% riposte is a very large amount of uncontested avoidance. By changing the tag on the void knuckles from slashing to crushing, you rob brawler tanks of a huge amount of defensive capability.

Please, please, please either introduce a new recipe for a 1-hand crushing adornment with 3% riposte chance or +3 mitigation increase (since plate tanks can get avoidance on their weapon, it would be appropriate for brawlers to receive mitigation) in THIS game update--NOT in 3 or 6 months time when the new expansion comes out, OR return the void knuckles to slashing weapons.

Yes, a slashing weapon has a lower hit rate for brawlers. However, given that this weapon and the hammer dropped by Tythus are so similar, and near eachother in progression, it is easy for a brawler to use the hammer for dpsing and the knuckles for tanking, while making them both crushing destroys our best tanking offhand option currently in existence.

keep it slashing, but have it check crushing instead of slash skill

OR

crushing adornment 3% parry or 3% miti (my vote)

The adornment system as a whole needs some looking at, but for now I've changed the Ayr adornments to work on any weapon, regardless of damage type. If this causes some unforseen issue, please let me know.

Dunno whether you want Clerics getting more from Shield Ally

In which case ripposte chance wouldn't do anything.

That's why clerics use avoidance food/drink, the adornments on wrists, etc. So yeah, every cleric would immediately adorn their weapons. Can adornments be class-based?

Good point. Okay, I tweaked it a bit, and it should now work with all slashing weapons and all fist weapons, regardless of damage type.

This has nothing to do with me, since my monk is only level 56, but this is an awesome fast response. Thanks, Fyreflyte. =)

Someone would have said it or he would have noticed it himself sooner or later, the change wasn't intended to make that adornment available to templars, and so it never even made it to test where that adornment was available to you.

Anyone want to guess which classes has the best uncontested avoidance they can give a tank?? It is not clerics. I honestly dont mind that 3% ripoiste can not be put on a cleric weapon. I would rather have uncontested Ripoiste not count to Shield Ally so I could use the adorn to solo.

Inhumanus

Agree, granting brawlers the ability to use these adornments a bit more freely is an excellent fix. Thank you.
