Wear Mastercrafted Vanguard armor and Mastercrafted 1 handers until your early 70s. Your mastercrafted weapons should be 3.0 or 4.0 delay; the specific weapon doesn't matter too much as long as both weapons have the same delay. You want to dual wield as much as possible, as well. Remember to upgrade as soon as upgrades are available. Remember to imbue your weapons, breastplate, and legs.

Jewelry wise you want Mastercrafted Strength and Agility rings, and mastercrafted melee-oriented jewelry (ones with STR, STA, AGI).

The current end game weapons of choice for Zerk are slashing weapons so it pays to keep those skills maxed as you lvl. The epic and myth are 3sec delay slashing weapons. That said you never know what you'll aquire as you lvl up so it's worth keeping all the skills at max till you get to the 70's. If your in a guild that has a guld hall and training dummies it dosn't take very long every couple of lvl's to sit pounding on the dummy with some hand crafted weapons for that teir to get your skills up.

I would also add to have a MC imbued tower shield on a macro so you can drop your off hand weapon for the shield if it's required. Stat wise your looking for STR, STA and AGI so build your gear around that. STR for hitting mobs harder and having more power, STA for larger health pool and AGI for avoidance. MC bow or thrown weapon in range slot is also very usefull for pulling mobs when required. Although this can cause over pulls if you hit a mob that socials nearby mobs so care needs to be taken with this meathod.

Good info, I am almost 72 and when I get there I assume I want to get a full set of the Incarn MC grear and same for weapons, will this do me until 80 and start running dungeons or will I need to upgade again before 80?

At low levels, the weapon type really doesn't matter (although +slashing skill is a bit easier to come by).

You'll be looking at good/well geared healers and an understanding group to help you get void shards so that you'll be able to effectivly tank the tso zones. I know a lot of people that have used lvl 50 toons to set the CL, EF and LS tso instances grey so that they can get the quest on the lvl 75+ toons and get 1 shard from the zone. Doing this grey run will yield you 8 shards a day if the zones are not the daily double (that takes it to 10) and takes about 1-2hours to do. There is a 77mc armor and shields that may be usefull as it carries slightly better mit and stats than the 72mc but you'll need to find an armorer that has the faction recipes from Bathezid Watch, Danak and Rilis to make those. Not sure if you're aware of it or not but the shard armor is cheaper to have made for you (in shards) than to purchase from the merchants in moors. A full set that is crafted would cost you 150 shards but will cost a lot more if purchased.
