A bruiser or monk makes a good farmer - they can explore, feign death, and are great for harvesting shinies.

For shinies bruiser or monk would be pretty good at higher levels. Keep in mind that feign death is never 100% reliable and at lower levels is pretty UNreliable. Which can leave you in a touchy situation if you're planning on feign flopping through tough areas at low levels. If you do go that route pick monk, not bruiser. Monks get invisibility and bruisers don't.

For farming nameds I would not recommend either brawler if you plan on doing it solo. Most nameds worth farming are ^^^ heroics and a brawler is going to have a REALLY tough time with those solo unless they're grey. If you can dual box then that might work although you might be better off with a plate tank with your warden healing.

Depends on level. At lower levels you can stack AA by locking and easily handle even con, or better, named.

My level 25 Guard handles even con ^^^ Named with ease. 42AA, and I do think a Bruiser would be even better.

Bruiser/Monk are nice farm classes, not at end game perhaps.. but certainly everything prior.

They are versatile on types of damage, leather armor tends to run cheaper than metals, and thier use of consumables is small.

My baby bruiser is also nice for just general slaughter farming, the AOE is nice and really, even con trash mobs just don't hit her. It isn't named farming, but, she is the reason my muter is leveling.
