Anyone else seem to be running into this problem with the 32-bit Windows 7? I ran launch pad, got to the updater and every so often it automatically cancels the download. Seems to work fine on 64-bit. Anyone else having the same issue?

If you haven't already, go through these steps:

1. Right click on the program launch icon2. Left click on "Properties".3. In the new window that pops up click on the "Compatibility" tab.4. In the "Compatibility Mode" area check the box next to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:"5. In the drop down list make certain that "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" is selected.6. Under "Privilege Level" make certain that the box next to "Run this program as administrator" is checked.7. Click on "Apply" then click on "Ok".8. Right click on the icon and select "Run as Administrator"

If it's anything like the same issue we see with vista, then that should correct the problem.

Just run it as administrator.

Had been running it as Administrator prior to. The compatibility mode seems to work so far. Now it's just the long wait for it to scan and download all the files.

I am also having this problem -- not looking forward to re-downloading Station Launcher and waiting 10 hours for it to update AGAIN for the SAME UPDATE. Thanks, Windows 7.

Irritating.

I can't even bypass Station Launcher. I simply get re-directed here whenever I attempt to update Station Launcher. If I don't update, everything runs smoothly.

Beta, RC or RTM?

Remember, Windows 7 is built on the Vista OS, any tricks and configuration tweaks that where donw for Vista, can also be done for W7. It use the same security model that Vista used, with updates.

Biggest configuration tweak for windows Vista and 7 is the install the game outside of the Program FIles directory. Personally run a structure of d:gamessoe then exact individual SOE game has a directory under that, it worked great in Vista and still does.

Another thing is to get the latest version of the station launcher, it works well under Vista and Windows 7

Everything inside the program files folder is placed under extra security that can cause problems with autoupdating games.

Not to highjack the thread but I have a question / problem since I installed Win7 64bit.

If I play EQ2 in true full screen the game is fine but if I try to play in windowed mode, maximized or not, the UI just flickers super fast. The game runs fine and the game graphics behind the UI is fine but every UI window in the forgrond just flickers at a crazy fast rate.

This makes it impossible to alt-tab to a browser or any other program. Anyone know what migt be causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks in advance and sorry for the thread hijack

Batu

There are some other fixes - unchecking heat bloom and the like, but 190.38 is not very stable in certain situations and with certain releases of Windows 7, lot more stable with 7600 (RTM)

Games do not belong in the Program Files directory, in my opinion. I have a separate partition for them.

Now if only you could get them to change the default install location on both patchers to be something like C:/SOE/EverQuest II you wouldn't see so many of these issues

One of the recent nvidia driver versions caused my screen to flicker with some windowed applications. Let us know if the problem persists after trying a different version.

I installed the 190.38 with my fresh install of Win7 and had the flickering in windowed mode. I followed Wingrider's advice and reverted to the 186.18 drivers and works perfect.

Thank you for the help, its appreciated.

Batu
