getting ready for a comeback to EQ2 with my brother. We are both going to start over on the PVP (first time for goth of us) server and I'm pretty sure he is going to play an assassin. I was wondering which fighter class has the highest dps overall....and also, which fighter class would pair best with an assassin, since we plan on duoing from 1-80 and pvp as much as we can. Thanks

I don't know much about EQ2 PvP but I would think a good SK would own in PvP.

just in general, which fighter has the most dps? not too worried about the PVP aspect just yet

Fighter DPS in order of best to worst: SK, bruiser, monk, pally, zerker, guardian.

Edit: under certain circumstances zerkers and pallies might outparse bruisers and monks, especially on AE fights.

All things being relatively equal (as much as possible, anway), I don't see Paladins as consistently outparsing dual-wielding Zerks; at least not in PvE. Perhaps things are a bit different when it comes to PvP and those classes.

From what I've heard from folks who have played on the PvP servers, Crusaders in general are a pain to kill just because of survivability. I could see where a class with high mitigation, avoidance and health coupled with the ability to heal/lifetap, self-cure and all the rest would make it a tough fight.

Paladins are not to shabby in pve dps either. Most that I have seen can match most dw zerkers any day of the week and beat them as well. Of course what I witness and what everyone else witnesses will be different.

Paladins are a solid all around class to have.

If you are going to Duo go with the SK or the Pally as they both are atm op to an extent. As far as actual DPS well depends on the player and gear tbh. I know guards and zerks that top the parse in groups not raids. Then they are [Removed for Content] close to the top in raids to so just depends on who and what gear ya got.

Just roll a shadowknight and harm touch n00bz in teh face tbh.

I wouldn't go with a fighter tbh... go with a dirge or aoe mezzer, especially if you'll run with an assassin. Playing a duo in PVP, you will want the stealth / cloak ability, and also be able to compliment each other.

I just can't see a fighter complementing an assassin very well tbh.

He asked about fighters so we told him about fighters. If you want to open up all class then tbh a Fury would be a good match or a Ranger. As for Dirge yes that would make a nice mix but tbh a Brig or Swash would be better if going with a scout. A good brig can stun lock anouther player and walk the plank followed by dispatch stun then the sin hits assin blade ( I think thats the big attack ) = dead pvp target. A swash would buff the sin and debuff the target in the same manner.

Basically everyone keeps a high disease resist and SK are a 1 trick pony when it comes to damage types. Keep a decent Disease resist and all we can do is autoattack you to death.

I would think a bruiser's Close Mind would completely nullify a brigand's stun lock. As long as you can kill him in 30 seconds.
