It seems to me this is not working correctly. I have t1 amour and I go down most of the time in 1 hit from an epic or heroic triple up mob. I understand that shield ally gives the tank some of my mitigation but I would think I would survive long enough to get soothe off. Even without casting shield ally I go down pretty quick. Why are we wearing plate armor when the mitigation is not working correctly? I have 8000 some hp unbuffed which is reasonbly low but i should out survive a druid in cloth. Any suggestion?

Ok, first some correction - shield ally allows you to give some of your avoidance (base block chance from your shield plus all +n% block, parry/riposte and avoid chances) to your tank - but you don't loose anything in the process. The tank gets mitigation from you through your mitigation buffs - as does anybody else since they're group buffs.

And yes, having an heroic nameds or epic mobs attention tends to kill us quite fast - despite wearing plate. I'm not shure wether we get the same effective mitigation (% of damage prevented) from the same raw miti numbers - but i will check. Also our avoidance seems to be not so great as compared to a tank.

MoonSorcerer is correct, shield ally does not give your mitigation to the tank, just checks against your avoidance if his/her avoidance check fails. The question I have to ask is what content you're talking about. If it's anything in say WoE or the other x2 instance, it could be that one of the dots on you didn't get cured fast enough. There's a poison one in there that's really nasty I know. I can get my poison resist up over 15k when I have to, and I still drop in 1 tick if I don't cure it right away.

yaya i was incorrect on shield ally. I was helping a freind get an epic update and the mobs were taking me down in 1 hit. i admit they hit hard but the wizard was lasting longer than I. So I concluded the T1 plate has an mitigation error. I am working on T2 and that has a mitigation crit on it. I can not find any great posts on how the templar mitigation works. My persona says I have a 54% mitigation but it seems I get hit harder then cloth or leather wearers. Sooo If anyone can explain how the new mitiagtion works that would help. I have swiched to my old Rilissian armor and seem to do better with being hit but I don't get the heal bonuses. I can only assume T1 plate has no mitigation or it isnt working correctly.

thanks for the help and huggles

Aarafel

Did you have multiple mobs on you at once? Or was it literally 1 single hit from 1 mob?
