Im wondering how this spell exactly works;

Sometimes I get in a group and this spells keeps getting cancelled when I put it on someone.. I can think of a few scenarios in which this should be correct (chain avoiding/cross avoiding etc.), but in many other occasions it just should work. It seems like there can be only 1 person in the group who puts this buff on someone, is this correct?(Yesterday I was grouped with a bruiser, and whenever either one of us casts avoidance on anyone, the others got canceled)

fighter avoidance buffs cancel each other out; and there are two parts to the avoidance buff... the part cast on you, and the part cast on your target.. if another fighter casts on either of those targets the buff will cancel.

i.e. you cannot put you avoid on a healer and have another tank but their avoid on you.

what is better? having the avoidance put on you or getting the 14 defence for casting on someone else?

Fighter avoidance if used correctly can give 20-40% additional avoidance depending on the circumstances and tanks involved.

+14 Defence makes your avoidance number look pretty

They will know about Amends, but other Pally spells sometimes is an exercise in futility to try to explain (especially with guilds without Paladins in the first place).

Just because people are completely stupid doesn't mean you have to take it into consideration. You cast your avoid buff on another tank, or failing that, on another person who may get aggro, its not rocket science. If there's a brawler around going full defense he should put his on the MT. If you are MT don't cast yours for the pathetic benefit it gives, take another fighter's buff, especially if its a brawler who knows what they are doing.

Its a very good spell to master as well. If you are tanking anything, and there's another fighter around, always take it or ask for it.
