<p>When updating and downloading patch, it keeps saying download canceled. I already put it under compatabily run as Win 95 ( Windows Service Pack 2 didnt work ) and i Turned UAC off ( Cant click on the box to run as admin when UAC is off ).</p><p>This is a fresh install of EQ2, after it says download cancelled. i close the launcher and turn it on again and i have to redownload everything again, i even put the directory install on the desktop and not in the program files section.</p>

<p>If UAC is off and you recieve that error - I'd believe it to be a background application causing interference or, worst case, a network port issue.  Can you try clearing out your background startup applications through this method?</p><p>--</p><p>1. Select the START button.2. Select RUN, then type in "msconfig" (for Vista, type msconfig in the search bar at the bottom of the Start Menu)3. Press OK4. Select the STARTUP tab.5. In the list, uncheck all boxes EXCEPT for SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY. If you use Windows XP, please note that SCANREGISTRY and SYSTEM TRAY will not be listed - just uncheck the entire list.6. Hit apply and then OK. Restart the computer and try the game again.</p>
