So I was sitting there last night, pvping with my 36 conjuror...I look at my AA points, I need to get some more. I browse through my quest book and see lots of quests to do. I think about all the named I've missed, all the dungeons I could check, all the zones I haven't even explored yet. After a moment I decide to run to Zek. I recall getting a good amount of AA/xp working that quest line. I zone onto the docks, pick up all the active quests there...then I sit there for another moment, and decide to log my fury and pvp with him : )

Altaholism ... the first step is in admitting that the condition exists. It's harder on a PvP server, because ... well, there's always a Plan B.

Too true. Hehe. Almost everyone who plays PvP here has Altitis to some degree or another. Heck, hubby and I have two accounts each and my two are upgraded so I can get all 12 slots.

We also have characters on a PvE server, because sometimes as a PvPer, you have to miss out on content you wish you could have seen. So it is nice to actually play PvE to see the dungeons and zones we may have had to skip over here.

PVP:

This Player vs Player is a great concept on paper but when applied has so many variables to consider. Everyone wants to pvp and win at this. Some for bragging rights, some for titles, some for the Overlord/Queen, some just becuase they are bored. We spend lots of time gearing up, collection spells, and AA to prepare for this battle.....

to bad most players run from it or simply dont log on for grimp rules....

My sword/spells await any challenge out there. Bring it on.

What does it mean to be a PvP'er?

It means you enjoy killing other PC's alot more than NPC's, and can accept all the good and bad that comes with being able to do it.

What is this PvP you speak of?

In my world a PvP'er is someone who is tired of the boring PvE grind, against mobs that are predictable, and never change. When you fight another player, it is rarely predictable, and that is the joy of PvP.

You can only raid to get gear to raid higher zones to get gear to raid higher zones, etc for so long before it gets mind-numbingly boring.

PvP for me means...I still play this game : )

For real though, I tried quitting. I tried going back to Lotro (for the 3rd time). It was cool for like an hour. Then I'm like, [Removed for Content] am I doing here, fighting these same mobs over and over for?

I'm just a pvp junkie. I played TF/CS for like 4 years. Now, I'm usually playing either COD/CS:S/TF2/DOD:S(love that game) or EQ2

Thats my usually rotation with a few other games mixed in here or there...

i have tried a ton of games for mmorpgs that are online and not, pvp and not. None come to eq2 still. I love how u can take a character class and go so many routes in pvp. pallys for example can be speced to be second healer, damage, or even tank!

I also like the variety and unexpected part of pvp. You engage a player thinking its u vs him and many things can happen in that envoirnment like aggro/aoe a mob or another pvper comes along to help/kill you. its great.
