Greetings,

That sounds like a file permission issue. It usually happens when the game is able to download the file but some security software is preventing it from applying the update. The most common causes would be an antivirus or Vista. If you're running Vista then make sure you are starting the game by right clicking and selecting 'run as administrator'. Then disable any antivirus software temporarily to see if that has any effect.

Finally, let's make sure that the game folder isn't set to read-only:

1. Navigate to the Everquest 2 folder (Default: C:Program FilesSonyEverquest 2)2. Right click the 'Everquest 2' folder and select 'properties'3. Go to the 'General' tab4. Uncheck the box that says 'read-only' at the bottom of that window5. Select 'apply to all files/folders' when prompted

After unselecting the "Read-Only" box, and applying to all files and folders - if I bring the folder properties back up - it is set to read only again.

Strange thing is...I had no problem playing before last night when it tried downloading the patch.

As that's the case, I'd recommend trying this particular fix and then trying DanielH's instructions once more - Let us know how it goes!

1. Make sure you are logged in on an Administrator account.2. Navigate to the Station Launcher folder (Usually c:program filessonystation will contain the Station Launcher folder)3. Right click on the Station Launcher folder and go to properties4. Click on the Security Tab5. Click on the Edit button.6. Go through each username or group listed and make sure all "Allow" boxes are checked7. Ensure that no "Deny" boxes are checked and click OK.
