Okay, I used to play EQ2 a year ago. Had a 73 Defiler and others. Used to play on very high quality and would get great fps, would get decent fps on maximum qual. I stopped playing and now tried again and i have a much better computer but the game looks worse and i get very low fps on Max qual. Anyone have any ideas?

Comp is:

Quadcore 2.4ghz

4gb ddr2 ram

nvidia gtx 260 superclocked edition 896mb

Try going through your graphics settings using the great guide at The Complete Guide to EQ2 Graphics Settings.

They've changed the way shadows work - you may need to adjust that. But the guide above will help you adjust settings for better performance -- some things just slow you down without giving you any visual benefit.

Unfortunately your quadcore will not help eq2 a lot as it still uses more or less only one core of them.

Make sure multicoresupport is activated in eq2 (doesn't help much but better than nothing *g*) and try the new GPU settings for shadows.

Other than that you would get more performance with a core2duo 3ghz (or more) than your quadcore 2,4ghz. Unfortunately.
