I have to confess, Lanys T'Vyl is my favorite character from EverQuest 1. Her story was one of the first GM events I ever engaged in and she was one of the most persistent GM characters. I watched her actions change the world of Norrath. Since Malevolence, Crimson Teir, Primordial Malice, and all that jazz have made their way into EQ2, I figured I would compile and share the lore around Lanys.

Lanys Birth & Rise to Power

Source: Harpy's Head Tavern, EQLive site -- supported by in game GM events

Hate is Born

The Moon of Blood is the most holy night for Innoruuk's followers and occurs once every twenty-seven months. On this heinous night, every follower of Innoruuk must murder a good being to honor his or her god. The dark elves have their own tradition on this night as well. The nobles choose a commoner to mate with and then sacrifice to their dark god.

Two to three score years ago Vendela G`Kal, a high priestess of Innoruuk, attended the Festival of the Moon of Blood in the Neriak commons. As the festival progressed, she noticed an exceptionally fine looking common male in the throng. The high priestess bade him be her sacrifice to Innoruuk. She led him to her inner sanctum, where they copulated throughout the night. Spent, she fell into a deep sleep. When she awoke, the dark elf was gone. The following year, she gave birth.

The child borne from this chance encounter showed remarkable abilities beyond that which any ordinary Teir`Dal had ever possessed. Many saw this, and took note. As she grew, many tried to end her life, fearing her for her power and abilities. On the first such attempt, an ancient shadowknight named Laarthik K`Shin saw the three would-be assassins and slew them as they made their attempt upon the Child of Innoruuk. After the battle, Innoruuk appeared before the shadowknight and conscripted him into service. He assigned the shadowknight to teach and protect the child and gave him a new, younger, body to enable him to do so. Under the shadowknight's tutelage, the child grew strong in both the art of combat and the dark magics of necromancy. She stood ready to spread hate across all of Norrath.

Lanys T`Vyl is the Child of Hate. She is the embodiment of Hate upon Norrath. She carries herself with a deadly grace. Any who oppose her will be submitted to her unforgiving wrath and those who follow her are said to eventually be led to Innoruuk's glory. She is very loyal to those who follow her, as she cherishes her father's creations and looks upon them as her own, but woe be to those Teir`Dal who would betray her for their torments would be everlasting.

Through the past year she has risen and taken a name for herself amid the mortal history of Norrath, her heart scorched with a great hatred for the new 'grace' that has fallen upon the earth. The Koada`Dal known as Firiona Vie, claimed to be the Champion of Tunare, has sparked an extreme hatred within Lanys' already darkened heart, a hatred so cold that it has numbed the rest of her senses.

Over a year ago, a battle was fought in the heart of Kithicor Wood, a battle between the army of Lanys T`Vyl (granted to her personally by King Naythox Thex), and the forces of Highpass and Felwithe, championed by Firiona Vie. There Lanys was defeated by the might of good, but Laarthik's own sacrifice saved her life, allowing her life essence to be transported into the realm of Hate, her mortal form forever sealed away by the powers of Tunare.

For many a moon Lanys remained locked away within her father's realm, patiently nursing her torments as she awaited an opportune moment to make her return. With the assistance of a powerful necromancer, whose name has since escaped her chaotic memory, Lanys's soul was magically drawn back into the material realm of Norrath, her soul replanted into a Teir`Dal female's body.

Having defeated Tunare's geis upon her, Lanys returned to Neriak only to be met by disdain and intense disgust from many of the people of Neriak - her recent failure reflecting furiously in their eyes. Lanys has since sought to bring revenge to the 'bast*rd wench' who caused her defeat, vowing that she will be the destroyer of Firiona Vie and eventually, of Tunare herself.

The Crimson Teir

Innoruuk, God of Hate, created the dark elves by kidnapping the king and queen of the elves, who were created by Tunare, and twisting them to his own image. The result was a cruel subterranean dark-skinned race. The dark elves are the means through which Innoruuk plots to destroy the races of Tunare, Prexus, and Brell Serilis who made a pact to populate Norrath with the races they created. Innoruuk especially despises the elves and dwarves.

It is said that in the past, Innoruuk had a group of chosen Teir'Dal followers he employed to spread hate across the face of Norrath. These chosen were known as The Crimson Teir. Only the highest and most decorated followers of Innoruuk were chose to hold these positions. To each he entrusted a piece of armor that they were bound to, in life and in unlife. These relics allowed them to channel some of Innoruuk's power, and with their aid they sowed suffering and hate across the world. Though this pleased the Prince of Hate, he had ulterior motives, for he was already planning the coming of his Child.

This armor, though it granted the owner incredible power, that power came at a terrible price. Each piece was bound to the soul of the owner, and slowly drained away the life essence of the possessor. These spiritually desiccated creatures would eventually serve as the tests he would pit his child against. The now physically ruined and mentally corrupted Crimson Teir can no longer comprehend their roles in the glory of their wicked master, Innoruuk. They know only bedlam in a hollow and endless existence of unlife.

Acting on the advice of her teacher, Laarthik K'Shin, Lanys T'Vyl sets forth to reclaim the pieces of armor from the Crimson Teir, now scattered across the world. Her first test brings her to the old Teir'Dal city of Befallen to obtain the Abhorrent Bracers of Darkness. The following is a missive sent to Neriak by Laarthik K'Shin:

The night began with a gathering of the Teir'Dal outside Neriak. They knew Lanys would appear, as it was her custom to do so at that hour. She was expected. I, however, was not. My arrival helped to unite the servants of Hate and defeat the heathens, which had dared to venture into Nektulos.

I was allowed to speak from the Great Rock, what we now call the Pulpit; I addressed those assembled with the following words:

"From the time of my birth, in the age of the lost, I have seen our people divided by what has created us. I am an old, old man, given life anew by our Prince of Hate, and I was bade to teach young Lanys, the Daughter. This is now the time we join to change the face of Tunaria, what you know as Antonica. The children of the weaker gods have been catered to and protected long enough! It is time for us to show our unified power! United, we shall make our name known that its merest utterance shall inspire unbridled terror. We shall stain the lands with heathen blood as a tribute to our Prince. Tonight begins the ascension of Lanys T'vyl!"

Throughout my speech, many of the enraptured slashed themselves, spilling their blood upon the ground as personal offerings. With the arrival of Lanys T'Vyl, war chants and songs of praise rose throughout the crowd. A palpable energy seemed to flow from them, prickling my skin. What a joyous time for the Teir'Dal, one that shall not soon be forgotten. Now was the time to harness the rising tide of passion and hate, and direct it toward our goal.

"We shall march on the Commonlands," I shouted, "and greet the first of the Crimson Teir. Young Lanys has determined their weakest link through her deep meditations, and tonight, we sever that link! Who will join in escorting the Child of Innoruuk to our common destiny?"

We began our march on the Commonlands. There was one dissenter who decided to declare his own war at this time, trying to divide us. "The Crimson Teir have aligned themselves with the Freeport Shadowknights, and they are amassing a force outside the city!" We continued on to the Commonlands, however, not to be diverted from our goal.

Upon entering the Commonlands, Lanys pointed, and spoke in dark-speech so all could hear, "We go to the western portion of the Commonlands."

Defending the Daughter became a task, as many Kodiaks patrolled where we walked, but my sword arm never faltered. At last we reached the entrance to the lost city Befallen. The futile attempts on the life of the Daughter by paladins, druids and bards there grew tiresome. A druid in wolf-form brought a group of hill giants to attack, but knowing Innoruuk guided me that night, we were victorious over them.

While we awaited the last of our army to reassemble, I shared a tale of our first encounter with the barbarians in their frigid land. Soon, it was time to mount our offensive.

Within Befallen, many light-dwellers employed the Guise of the Deceiver against us, but we saw through the glamour easily. The offending bard, enchanter and wizard were set upon by the throng and quickly dispatched.

We raged through the lost city to the third level, where we finally engaged Jerak T'Shir. The battle lasted nearly twenty minutes. Many of the undead in that place joined in the fray, assisting their own against us. Lanys was badly injured, and I was unable to heal my student. However, there in the midst of the chaos, one of our own brave clerics healed the Daughter, pledging to protect her. It was an inspiring sight!

The knight fell, and his Bracer latched onto Lanys as the new owner. She smiled grimly, then bowed her head in prayer. I took this opportunity to reward the fallen knight's barbed leg plates to the young cleric, promising that in time, she, too, would have a teacher, one that would show her just what her fate as a Daughter would be.

Lanys saw fit to take the coin from me and give it to a young dark one. Methinks she fancied him, but perhaps I will see him on the sacrificial table before her work is done.

I leave you with this tale of the battle, and return to my duties as Teacher.

--Laarthik K'Shin

Several days after recovering the bracers of darkness, Laarthik K'Shin again appears in Nektulos Forest. He tells those of the faithful that the time of Lanys T'Vyl's second trial is at hand. This one he feels will be especially hard, there's no telling what is in store when you enter the lair of Najena.

Laarthik gathers a group of those faithful to Innoruuk. Lanys appears, speaking to her followers in a cold, heartless manner. The party, afraid of the power that she possesses, remains quiet in a bowing stance before the Child of Hate. Lanys, Laarthik and the faithful dark elves journeyed to Najena to face yet another of the Crimson Teir'Dal.

After passing through Lavastorm Mountains, they make their way to the Najena's dungeon. In the depths of this dark fortress, Lanys and her followers find Tovin D`Rin, the second Crimson Teir`Dal. This skeletal magician is protected by Agony and Strife; his roguish imp pets that Najena helped him create long ago. They are probably the most powerful creations the twisted Najena has ever created. Agony and Strife are linked to Tovin in such a way that he cannot be harmed while these pets remain alive.

Lanys and her party fiercely slay Agony and Strife, leaving Tovin D`Rin open for attack. Tovin begins to panic and shouts "Mortal... NO! Agony and Strife have departed me. I am mortal again!" Lanys and her followers begin their attack on him weakening him with each hit. Once Tovin has been defeated, Lanys finds herself in possession of the Abhorrent Boots of Darkness.

For his assistance with the battle, Laarthik rewards the most devout warrior of the party with his blackened iron bast*rd sword. Lanys and Laarthik then return to Neriak.

"Through magic, The Crimson Teir is bound. Through hate, The Crimson Teir is strong. Through age, The Crimson Teir is wise. Feeling the connection sever between their members, they flee to the far corners of the lands, in futile hope that they will be forgotten. If it were only so simple..."

In his dreams, Laarthik sees visions in pairs: fire and stone, primitives and gnomes, and two faces marked in red. He awakes with a start, immediately knowing where next his path leads.

Laarthik K`Shin quickly confronts the dwellers of Neriak, the children of Innoruuk. He warns them of the difficult tasks that awaits Innoruuk's chosen child. As he explains to them the journey they must take, Lanys T`Vyl appears before them in her usual powerful and threatening fashion.

The adventurers make haste to Solusek's Eye where the last of the Crimson Teir awaits. Upon entering Lavastorm Mountains, Lanys is attacked by a high elven assassin. He fears her power over the dark elven nation and what she might bring upon Norrath. He is no match for Lanys and her followers, however.

Deep in the tunnels of Solusek's Eye, Enchantress Mydraa K`syk and the thief Talia K`syk make a hopeless effort to flee the coming of Innoruuk's chosen child, for they know that with each member of the Crimson Teir that falls, Lanys grows in power.

Realizing that they will not be able to escape quickly enough, they charm four inhabitants of the caverns to defend them. These Stolen Clockwork XDCV units are formidable warriors, but provide only a small amount of protection against the Child of Hate.

Upon reaching the Crimson Teir, Lanys's followers engage the guardians. Many of them perish.

"Defeat them!" Laarthik K`Shin shouts. "We must defeat them for the Child of Hate!" As the last of the Crimson Teir falls, the last pieces of the Abhorrent Armor of Darkness affixes themselves to Lanys. At that moment, a circle of flame surrounds her, and she is rocked by waves of violent power. Lanys T`Vyl becomes the true child of darkness and hate.

The Battle of Bloody Kithicor & Lanys' First Death & Resurrection

Source: Harpy's Head Tavern, EQLive Site -- supported by in game GM events

The Final Battle

All throughout Antonica, forces prepared for war. Quartermasters scrambled to equip hastily recruited troops. Men, both military and mundane, trained and practiced diligently on both sides for what would surely be a terrible war. Anyone who could carry a weapon, carried one during those days for none knew when the army of dark elves would advance.

The Teir`Dal likewise prepared. They were confident that they would be successful. Indeed, they had the blessing of Innoruuk and his very daughter Lanys T`Vyl to lead them. Together with her mentor Laarthik K`Shin, the two would lead their great army against the forces of High Keep further increasing the strength of the nation of Teir`Dal and dividing the two cities Qeynos and Freeport, setting up a stranglehold upon the races of light.

The morning was rainy and cold when the dark elves began their march. Lead by Laarthik K`Shin and Lanys T`Vyl, the hordes of Teir`Dal were a consuming fire upon the common lands. Platoons of Teir`Dal broke off to crush the rag-tag bands of allied forces that rose up to stop their advancement. Regardless of the opposition they faced, Lanys and Laarthik pushed forward toward their goal. All around the sounds of war rang out, metal against metal, battle cries and screams of the dying.

As the army approached Kithicor forest, a rear guard was left behind to prevent the advancement of any of the races of light through the common lands. It was then that the army began to spread throughout Kithicor forest like wine spilled from a goblet. Slinking through the forest, a group of 30 Teir`Dal crept into Rivervale. They struck quickly. The peaceful halfling city was occupied and subjugated under the brutal heel of the dark elven oppressors with little to no resistance. The Teir`Dal raided the shops and took whatever meager wealth the Halflings had. The new rulers of Rivervale quickly struck down any that resisted.

As the army continued to work its way through the forest, they met with heavier resistance as the allied races of light sprang from their hiding places, ambushing the Dark Elves. Battles erupted in every corner of the forest. As quickly as a Teir`Dal was struck down, another came forward to take his place. As soon as a Teir`Dal platoon would survive one ambush, they would be ambushed yet again. Both armies were relentless. Neither side could tell who was winning. The smell of death and of blood began to replace the usually fragrant smells of the forest.

Lord Tephys, Galeth Veredeth and Firiona Vie waited just outside the entrance to High Pass with the assembled forces of the Paladins of Tunare and all others that were willing to assist them. The situation was very grave. The armies approach was heralded by a stampede of frightened animals all scurrying in fear of the approaching dark elven menace. It was shortly thereafter that they began to hear the sound of marching boots, the clang of weapons, and the rattle of armor peppered with the occasional scream approaching through the forest.

It was there, near the entrance to High Pass that the leaders of the two armies met, face to face. The forest seemed to groan and the very earth trembled. Cruel laughter was heard echoing through the trees.

Lord Tephys raised his mailed fist into the air and swore aloud, "By the grace of The Mother, you will be stopped Child of Hate! Your cursed army shall go no farther."

Lanys's derisive laughter seemed supernaturally loud as it rang out, almost hurting the ears of those around her, "Old fool, you feel such hate for me and in that I am glad. This only proves the strength of my father and his power! However, the hate you hold for me is nothing compared to the loathing I have for you and your kind. Prepare to feel the full force of the power that is Hate itself!"

With those words, the two armies clashed. Lanys seemed to close the gap between herself and Lord Tephys in a single leap and struck at the old Paladin with a viscous fury. Like a hammer upon an anvil, Lanys's swords struck again and again against the upraised shield of Lord Tephys. The Paladin struggled valiantly under the harsh blows of the Child of Hate. The attacks were relentless and only seemed to become more violent as they continued.

Finally, the shield of the old Paladin failed him and Lanys landed a blow squarely upon the aged shoulder of the holy fighter. Dropping his shield, he staggered backward, holding his wound. He whispered for aid from Tunare, and his hand glowed a soft blue as the wound healed. He smiled to himself as he felt the love of The Mother. His smile quickly faded as he looked up to see Lanys's hands glowing as well, a cruel smile upon her face.

Shouting out words in Ancient Teir`Dal, Lanys made a sweeping gesture toward her enemy. Great streams of magical energy coursed from her outstretched hands and enveloped the High Elf. Lord Tephys clutched at his chest as his whole body was wracked with incredible pain. Stunned from the sudden and unexpected blow, Lord Tephys failed to block as Lanys struck a final terrible blow. Lord Tephys fell quietly to the ground and into the bosom of the Great Mother.

Meanwhile, a much different battle was being waged. Two seasoned fighters, leaders of men, both ancient and both veterans of countless battles squared off against each other. Laarthik K`Shin and Galeth Veredeth circled one another in a deadly ballet of thrusts and parries. Both were opponents of equal skill, but Laarthik, through the dark power he practiced, had the body of a young man. Galeth, though in excellent physical shape for his age, was still very old.

Lowering his guard ever so slightly, Laarthik allowed Galeth to bash him square in the chin with his shield. Striking like a serpent, Laarthik's hand shot forward enveloped in a blaze of fiery magical energy. Stepping inward and snaking his blazing hand under the upraised arm and the High Paladin's shield, Laarthik touched the chest of the Galeth. The fire left the hand of the Teir`Dal and enveloped his mortal enemy.

A cry of shock and pain erupted from the lips of the elder fighter. But with a speed one would not expect from an old man, he quickly jumped back and laid his hand upon his blistered and still smoldering skin. The wound disappeared completely though the smell of burning flesh still hung heavy in the air.

Galeth smiled briefly at his mortal enemy and laughed, "It appears we are still even my worthy adversary." Then, feigning surprise, he raised his eyebrows and taunted, "Oh wait, I see your lip is bleeding now! Perhaps it is I who have the upper hand!" They resumed their deadly dance.

As Lord Tephys fell Firiona Vie moved to assist him but she quickly realized that she was too late to save her companion. Lanys T`Vyl sprung upon Firiona like a hunting cat after its prey. Firiona was surprised by the uninhibited fury of Lanys T`Vyl and by the sheer strength of her blows. Shifting her weight she dug the side of her foot firmly into the ground in a back stance as she began to parry the fierce thrusts and savage slashes of Innoruuk's chosen.

Again and again, Lanys's weapons struck down upon Firiona's shield and sword. Unlike Lord Tephys, she was able withstand the force of her attacks. She did not forget the training she received from her mentor Galeth. She realized the importance of remaining calm and levelheaded during combat. Firiona and Lanys were polar opposites on the field of combat. Lanys foamed at the mouth and struck viscously while Firiona was calm, almost relaxed, as she turned aside her blows. Biding her time and saving her strength, Firiona simply parried the blows of Lanys T`Vyl.

Laarthik and Galeth continued their deadly ballet, but Galeth's old body grew weak. Little by little, he felt himself loosing his edge. He began to realize that this was a battle that he could not win. He resolved himself to hold off Laarthik for as long as possible, regardless of the outcome.

As Lanys's attack continued against Firiona, the Chosen of Tunare noticed the fury begin to fade just a bit from the dark elf's strikes. In a single fluid motion, the Paladin parried both of her opponent's blades downward with her single sword as she circled swiftly to the side of Lanys. Swinging her shield in a back handed motion as she spun, she struck Lanys brutally in the back of the head, pushing her off balance momentarily.

Though surprised and dazed by the sudden attack, Lanys regained her composure in time to turn aside the deadly sword thrust that was aimed directly for her midsection. Firiona took the offensive. This time it was she who struck again and again, with Lanys continually backing up under the force of her blows.

Swarms of tiny insects descended upon the battle and the ground began to tremble at the Great Mother's displeasure. Firiona seemed to grow in stature and her golden hair began to shine brilliantly as she was filled with the love of the Mother and surrounded by her protection. She waged her battle against the chosen of Innoruuk without mercy, making known the full displeasure of Tunare.

Lanys weakened and faltered under the righteous anger. Her eyes, once a blaze of hate and fury, were now glazed and filled with exhaustion. Defending herself grimly, she called out, "Laarthik, please help me!"

Hearing the cry of help from his student and the chosen of his race and god, Laarthik was filled with a new found rage. Roaring like a lion, he drove the pummel of his sword straight across and onto the temple of the tiring Galeth Veredeth. The savage blow was too much for the High Paladin of Tunare. Galeth, for the first time in his long life, fell before an opponent on the field of battle, bleeding and unconscious.

Seeing the gravity of the situation, Laarthik pulled the large glowing blue sphere found by the goblin Nurgal, from beneath his breastplate. The orb glowing brightly pulsed and vibrated in Laarthik's hands. The air resonated and hummed with energy. Holding the orb to the sky, he cried out in a strangled voice, "Innoruuk! In the name of Lanys T`Vyl, I beseech you! Attend her!" The energy contained within the orb was released.

The screams of ten thousand damned souls filled the world as an immeasurable power opened a rift in the astral barrier. The hearts of even the most evil and twisted creatures in Norrath were suddenly filled with dread and fear from the terrible evil that spewed forth from the Plane of Hate.

Laarthik's borrowed body was encased in a pillar of fire emanating from the orb, as the energies of Innoruuk were unleashed. Nothing can withstand the presence of a god and Laarthik's body was quickly torn apart by the mighty power.

Lanys tossed her head and laughed. She shouted out in welcome to the power of Innoruuk. Her body ignited with crimson flame as she was drawn upward by the Prince of Hate, her father. The Child of Hate disappeared into the swirling rift in the sky as the remains of Laarthik crumpled to the ground. A tremendous roar rose up from the very heart of Norrath.

Firiona Vie stared in dismay and shock as Lanys was swept into the Heart of Hate, dread filling her eyes with angry tears. The Chosen of Tunare called out to those around her as her heart was overcome by terror, "Flee! Flee for your lives! Doom approaches!"

Firiona rushed to Galeth's side and cried, "This is a portent of death! None can survive the Hate Innoruuk will cast upon us!" She helped her fallen mentor struggle to his feet and together, they both fled the scene of the calamity.

A vacuous wave of hopelessness and dread withered the souls of all in Kithicor as sight was ripped from their eyes from Innoruuk's presence. Hearts beating rapidly in fear suddenly stopped. In an instant, the terrible clamor of war was replaced by an unnatural silence. All life in the forest, whether dark elf, ally, or animal, was instantly extinguished.

And so ended the Battle of Bloody Kithicor. Both sides suffered terrible losses. The allied forces held what was probably the most somber "victory" party in history at High Pass. The Dark Elves retreated to Neriak. The once quiet, silvan forest that was filled with relatively peaceful woodland creatures had been forever tainted. To this day, Kithicor is haunted by the restless souls of the fallen soldiers that perished during that terrible war. The world was never the same.

Lanys Reborn

After the events of Bloody Kithicor, the Teir`Dal were left without answers as to what happened to Lanys T`Vyl. The King and Queen of the dark elves charged Vizier D`Kalz, a priest of great power, with the task of finding the answers to their many questions.

Vizier D`Kalz calls a gathering at the skeleton stone in Nektulos Forest for all to witness the summoning of Laarthik K`Shin's spirit. The summoning is successful and Laarthik comes forward in a ghostly form. He tells them the story of Bloody Kithicor from his perspective, how his invocation to the mysterious stone opened a portal to the plane of Hate, through which Innoruuk snatched Lanys to save her. Tunare used the opening of the portal to her advantage as well, banishing Lanys's corporeal form from Norrath.

Laarthik also explains to them about the act of shifting spirits. Being an elder Shadowknight and a practitioner of the dark magics, he knows that spirit shifting is indeed possible. He speaks of a Gnome necromancer named Falrazim Zaftamor that has done this. He tells them the story of this powerful gnome.

"Falrazim has successfully spirit shifted into the body of a drake to prolong his fading physical life. In the form of a drake, Falrazim's has found that the dragon magic is completely different from the arts of necromancy, and only those born a dragon can comprehend its usage. Unfortunately for Falrazim, the gestures and incantations necessary to the practice of necromancy are impossible in drake form. He struck a deal with Meldrath, where Meldrath would help change Falrazim back into a Gnome if Falrazim first helps him complete several tasks. However, Meldrath's tasks have lasted for over 300 years, and Falrazim is growing very restless. He now seeks an alternative to Meldrath's help."

Laarthik informs them that they can find Falrazim within the Steamfont Mountains. He is needed for his knowledge to bring Lanys back to Norrath, and should not be harmed.

Vizier D`Kalz sends a party accompanied by Dolis Sha`vlal, a revered Shadowknight and survivor of the Battle of Bloody Kithicor, to Steamfont to speak with Falrazim.

In Steamfont Mountains, Falrazim Zaftamor is approached by Dolis Sha`vlal and the others. After hearing of what happened, Falrazim agrees to help them under one condition. They are to find him a new host as well, and use the stone to transfer his spirit into it. Falrazim would never be so eager to help anyone or admit to such weaknesses, however he is in quite an odd situation and has been for the past 300 years.

Falrazim gives a note with the spell needed to seize the spirit and place it within the stone, and gives the stone itself to the highest-powered necromancer in the party. Dolis Sha`vlal and the party return to Neriak to get further orders from Vizier D`Kalz. Falrazim waits in Steamfont for their return.

Back in Neriak, they tell Vizier D`Kalz of what they have learned and inform him that they need two hosts. Vizier D`Kalz sends them to the Plane of Hate to capture the soul of Lanys T`Vyl and bring it back to Norrath.

Upon entering the Plane of Hate, they search for Lanys. Once they find her, a brief interaction ensues and the necromancer mutters the words. "Vethau N`Vac Reithos" he chants repeatedly as the other members of the party join in.

"Vethau N`Vac Reithos"

"Vethau N`Vac Reithos"

"Vethau N`Vac Reithos"

Lanys's form collapses and her soul flows in a blood red stream of light, shot through with bolts of blue, into Falrazim's stone. Dolis Sha`vlal kneels next to Lanys's inert body and removes the pieces of her Abhorrent Armor of Darkness.

After returning to Steamfont, the party sees that Vizier D`Kalz and Falrazim Zaftamor are awaiting their arrival. The two hosts, stripped of their souls, lie upon the ground with blank faces. Falrazim gives the necromancer a note containing more text that must be read for the ritual to take place.

The necromancer begins to chant, "Ver mitra tec piof... Ver ir ostryl... Ver N'Vac.... Ver tev'Ve." The others begin to chant as well.

"Ver mitra tec piof... Ver ir ostryl... Ver N'Vac.... Ver tev'Ve"

"Ver mitra tec piof... Ver ir ostryl... Ver N'Vac.... Ver tev'Ve"

"Ver mitra tec piof... Ver ir ostryl... Ver N'Vac.... Ver tev'Ve"

Dolis Sha`vlal lays the Abhorrent Armor of Darkness onto the ground next to the bodies. As the Child of Hate's soul seeps from the stone, traveling to the host, the pieces of armor attach themselves to the body. Falrazim's soul, in turn, is pulled into the stone and is transferred to the gnome body.

Thus, the Child of Hate returns to Norrath.

On Lanys' Failed Grasp for Power

Source: Neriak Signal, Vols 1-7, in game Newspapers. I believe they can still be purchased in EQlive from the vendor. -- supported by in game GM events

The Child of Hate

Despite the wishes of our father, Lanys T'Vyl continues to act as the Child of Hate. It was prophesized that Lanys T'Vyl, daughter of Hate, was to be sacrificed so that the borrowed powers could be returned to Innoruuk, to clear the way for the new chosen, Valizrae D'Tora.

Lanys T'Vyl has recently obtained one of the three pieces of the Malevolence, Governor of the Wicked. She seeks to gain this artifact to further her influence upon Norrath. Once the remaining two pieces are found, Lanys may hold the power to seal Innoruuk's presence from Norrath as revenge against us and the divine animosity that has been shown towards her.

The archpriest of our hateful father, Dorvias N'Keth, has been preparing for the sacrificial ceremony as the King's armies prepare to engage for the capture. The Queen has not voiced her opinions on the situation, but rumors have it that while she believes the sacrifice must take place, she is not pleased with the manner in which Innoruuk's divine rule is being approached by his majesty.

Child of Hate

There has been no update on the actions of Lanys T'Vyl.

Things have been eerily quiet. The King ruled that any information being withheld from his majesty shall be dealt with immediately by death. As ordered by the King, Dorvias N'Keth continues with the preparations for the sacrificial ceremony.

Child of Hate

Dorvias N'Keth, the Archpriest of Innoruuk and advisor to King Naythox Thex, discovered that Lanys T'Vyl, the forsaken daughter of Innoruuk, has learned the location of the arm of malevolence, the second of the three lost pieces of the artifact that could destroy our father and give her the ultimate power.

In order to keep Lanys T'Vyl from obtaining the part of the artifact, the Archpriest obtained permission from Venril Sathir to seek out the Iksar, Danak Dhorentath to raise the long since dead General Tzashk, keeper of this staff for several years.

Once the general was summoned, the location of the staff was made known. Tzashk informed them that only the great dragon Trakanon would know the true location of the staff for it was he who defeated he and his fleet and confiscated the staff from him long ago.

Dorvias N'Keth was last reported as heading to confront the Ring of Scale about this information.

Child of Hate

So far all attempts to stop the disdainful child of hate Lanys T'Vyl have failed. Although Dorvias N'Keth, the Archpriest of Innoruuk and advisor to King Naythox Thex, had learned the location of the second piece of the Malevolence, Lanys could not be stopped at obtaining it.

With little worry of the Crimson Triad's continuing efforts to sacrifice her, she and her followers reached Skyfire Mountains ahead of the King's armies and other enemies.

Lanys and Lord Kazira, keeper of the arm, engaged in a lengthy conversation regarding the staff. Not heeding a warning from Lord Kazira, Lanys rallied her followers destroyed the dragon.

Dorvias then approached and warned her of the dangers of obtaining all pieces of the artifact itself. Lanys fought in an even battle with the archpriest. Lanys called forward her followers to destroy Dorvias.

Dorvias gave Lanys a warning of her sacrifice being inevitable and gated away to report back to the King.

With two pieces of the great artifact, Malevolence, in hand, Lanys returned to her ceased fortress of Befallen to continue to build her forces and rally her allies.

Showing the powers that she holds, Lanys and her followers destroyed the King's soldiers that were building up forces in the Commonlands. She then sent her followers to deliver an ornate amulet that she found amongst the rumble of the slain forces to the Queen's emissary.

Before reaching the emissary, Ashteth T'Dral met up with Lanys followers and informed them that the Queen was waiting for their arrival and told them to meet up with her in Neriak.

Once in Neriak, after finding out about the murders and Lanys' continued defiance, Queen Cristanos Thex warned the followers of Lanys that any Teir'Dal who is caught actively showing their loyalty toward Lanys will be branded a traitor.

The Child of Hate

Deep in the heart of Neriak, the King and Queen held a war council to discuss the strategy against Lanys T'Vyl and her followers.

During the council, Mayong Mistmoore appeared in an obvious fit of rage toward the Crimson Triad. He informed the Royals of Lanys T'Vyl's ritualistic ceremony in which resulted in the capture of his minion Khasra Vei'Ras. He informed them of Lanys' location and of her intention to complete Malevolence.

In the Rathe Mountains, Lanys was preparing to complete the ritual. The Crimson Triad interrupted her and a great battle began. The battle was long and bloody. Growing tired and angrier by the wait, Mayong Mistmoore appeared, knocking Lanys T'Vyl unconscious. He then grabbed Malevolence. With the Bloodmoon in hand, he completed Malevolence. He then placed it in the hands of the archpriest, Dorvias N'Keth and told the Crimson Triad to complete the sacrifice of the Lanys T'Vyl.

Instructed by the King and Queen, Ashteth T'Dral and Dorvias N'Keth quickly began the sacrificial ceremony.

Upon the appearance of the Avatar of Hate, he took Malevolence from the hands of the Archpriest with instructions to venture to the Plane of Hate when he is summoned.

Once the ceremony was completed, the King made the following announcement in Neriak:

"Loyal Teir'Dal. The time has come for our nation to move on to greatness. Neriak has conquererd over the armies of Lanys T'Vyl. At last, the sacrificial ceremony has been performed in the name of our father. The Avatar of Hate has absorbed her essence and power. Valizrae D'Tora, the new chosen, has been freed and is now beginning her training to become the new child of hate."

Lanys's minions, outraged by the sacrifice of their leader, are quickly constructing a temple in her honor. The King and Queen show no concern over this factor.

Malevolence

The corpse of Lanys T'Vyl was stolen after it was brought to Neriak for the burial ceremony. The Queen had demanded that the ceremony take place out of respect for the forsaken child of hate. Dorvias N'Keth was to oversee the ceremony.

Reports were sent to the archpriest that the three rogues, disguised as priests, that had committed this crime were members of the Primordial Malice, those that continue to remain loyal to Lanys even after death.

Dorvias sent a rogue from the Ebon Mask to gather the information about the theft. The rogue, upon his death, sent messengers back to Dorvias with information regarding the forsaken's corpse.

When Dorvias received the message, he immediately sent one who was proven to be loyal to Innoruuk to Befallen to retrieve the Ornate Ring that was on Lanys' corpse. Scout Ziana escorted this selected agent.

Once in Befallen, the agent found the corpse guarded by Baron Telyx, once a devout Teir'Dal warrior of Innoruuk who fell to Lanys' favor. The agent had to use great intelligence in order to outwit him.

Baron Telyx needed to be convinced of the agent's loyalty to Lanys. If the agent were discovered as a spy, the mission would have failed.

After a painstaking effort, the agent finally convinced Baron to instill trust and turn over the ring. With the Ornate Ring in hand, Dorvias used it to summon Lanys' corpse back to Neriak so that the ceremony could be completed.

Dorvias demanded that the agent hold the Idol of Innoruuk as further proof of loyalty.

The Prince of Hate then appeared and called forward the loyal being and explained that for their loyalty they would carry the victory of Hate over their enemy by accepting the chosen duty. He granted the Coin of Malevolence and directed the chosen to Vorshar the Despised in order to obtain the Malevolence.

The Primordial Malice

The followers of the recently sacrificed Lanys T'Vyl have completely abandoned their hold over the Temple of Befallen. Rumors have it that these subjects of malice have constructed a shrine to worship the former Child of Hate in solitude while continuing their efforts to recruit new members.

His majesty expressed no concern of this development merely stating that the Primordial Malice is of no concern to Neriak but they are being watched closely.

In addition, he stated that those who continue to turn their backs on Innoruuk will no longer be welcomed in a city of his children.

The Primordial Malice

The foolish Primordial Malice, a cult attempting everything they can to resurrect Lanys T`Vyl, has found a way to steal and corrupt the powers of Hate.

When attempting this madness, they unleashed a spirit that they assumed was Lanys T`Vyl.

However, they were met by the powers that came from the realm of hate itself.

Needless to say, Innoruuk's powers were more than they could handle.

They became overwhelmed and cursed.

Unfortunately, one of their pestilent priests managed to escape and is attempting to cure the others with the blood of the cursed.

No matter, Innoruuk's power shall always prevail.

Within the Mountains of Rathe where the armies of Neriak and those foolish enough to follow the whimpering child battled the armies of Neriak emerged victorious and Lanys T'Vyl was exterminated by the hand of Innoruuk himself.

We have heard reports that, despite Lanys' death, those who were loyal to her and her cause of eradicating Innoruuk and his followers from Norrath have continued their construction of a temple in the Mountains of Rathe for a purpose not yet known.

Dawn of Malevolence

It appears that the Teir'Dal, after the destruction of the forsaken child, regained Malevolence into their grasp. Dorvias N'Keth, the renouned Archpriest of the Prince of Hate, chose a devout follower of none other than the Hateful Prince to wield the revered and supposedly god-like power of Malevolence. How charming.

Apparently, the Teir'Dal with their widely feared cunning and wit, were hiding their greed beneath a veil of concern for the world around them, as of course, Malevolence possesses the power to destroy even the gods themselves! Now, who could have imagined such lies? And to think that for all this time, here we were truly in thought that the burrowing little scabs might have regard for someone or something other than the destruction of all things Tunare-related and of course, the dilema of what rear-less chap design will grace the bottoms of their females when next fashion season arrives. Amazingly and truly one of the greatest deceptions in Norrath's history, we must say.

Despite having what small regard we have for our pointy-eared and fearsomely diabolical little friends utterly rendered, we do retain some amusement and appreciation for their scheme. After all, their deception was indeed intact to the very end and they were successful in destroying Lanys. We extend a salute of 'Bravo!' to the little, blue, tunnel-dwelling menaces of Norrath.

Source: Freeport Observer Vol 1, 4, 5, 6

The Forsaken Child's Search

It has been brought to the attention of the entire world that Lanys T'Vyl has been forsaken and cast aside by her father and the entirety of the intelligent, loyal, and worthy Teir'Dal nation. The specific reasons for this expected and delayed turn of favor toward the once revered child is simple-- failure. However, unlike the graceful and charming ways that she was once spoken of and feared, she has thrown something of a child’s fit in defiance of her father's divine rule.

In the pitch of a fussing cat, Lanys proclaimed that she will be seeking Malevolence, Guardian of the Wicked -- an ancient artifact once revered and eventually destroyed by her own people. Much of the world remains ignorant to the power that this artifact holds, twisted and corrupted from its former glory, but as governors and keepers of our own city's lore, we know the truth of Marr's curse and hold our own concerns for Lanys's seeking of its restoration.

Although the child's actions and proclamations of revenge against her father bring us no true concern, the people of Freeport patiently await Neriak's champions to bring down this youthful nuisance and failed would-be champion.

Neriak Changes Its Stance

It seems that our Teir'Dal neighbors have had something of a change of heart regarding Lanys T'Vyl. After numerous scrapes and scuffles against those she led into the Battle of Bloody Kithicor, the supposed "child of hate" has finally worn out her welcome in the Kingdom of Thex. Neriak has officially branded Lanys an outlaw (if, of course, you can believe anything that comes out of Neriak). A warning, citizens: as if forever endangering any travel west after dark with her botched raid on Highpass was not enough. Lanys and her brood have now taken residence in the ruins of Befallen, so please take extra care when passing through the Commonlands.

War

The Teir'Dal are fighting amongst themselves again and now they seem to have done away with one of their most famous faces. Reports are coming in from all over that Lanys T'Vyl was sacrificed to their despicable God Innoruuk.

Always difficult outside of Neriak to decipher the politics of a race founded in hate, one is left to assume that the tensions between Lanys and teh Royalty of Neriak had run their course, as had seemed to be coming judging by the recent scuffles in the Commonlands. We are expecting word soon on the current state of the Teir'Dal population in the Commonlands outside of Befallen.

Missionary of Innoruuk Sighted

Some dark elf referring to themselves as "The Malevolent" has been running around Norrath talking of all that their prince of hate stands for. Treat this particular zealot with a measure of caution for the artifact this particular dark elf wields. It is reputed to have the power to "give you over to Innoruuk. The implications of this are not full known, but suffice it to say, the Militia is here to help. If you see this person running around, alert the closest member of the Militia and let them handle it from there- we do not want our citizens in mortal danger.

Whether or not this is directly related to the happenings in Rathe Mountains is still unknown. The stories are splintered, but reports are that the group holed away in the mountains are still rooting for that fool child T'Vyl. As best we can tell from Neriak, Lanys has fallen, though information on this "malevolent" person has been more difficult to come by. One should expect no better when dealing with the likes of them, so stay on your toes, people!

Wait, where does the Malevolence and Primordial Malice become mentioned in EQ2? I know that Firiona Vie's Lifeguide Staff is currently held by Mistmoore as well as other artifacts like the actual Soulfire, but the Malevolence?

I remember attending a few of those GM events, including Bloody Kithicor. I liked when it finally all came to an end when her physical body was finally destroyed and Innoruuk himself destroyed her soul.

Source: Odus Chronicle, Vol 3, 4,

The continuing hunt for Malevolence

The forsaken child of Innoruuk has yet to be apprehended by the Teir'Dal or their allied nations while the renegate and vengeful god-born child continues her search for Malevolence. Already possessing the first piece of the powerful and most feared artifact, the child is believed to have gained considerable knowledge as to the location of the Arm of Malevolence, or the staff of the artifact.

We have gained rumors that the Crimson Triad, a group of three influential and powerful Teir'Dal men appointed by Innoruuk himself, had sent Dorvias N'Keth, the second in command of the Triad, to the plains of Kunark. In the Overthere plains, Dorvias was believed to have gained some information relating to the staff's possible whereabouts held tightly by the clutches of the Ring of Scale. Though the location has yet to be proven as undisputed and absolute fact, we do give a gentle prayer of relief that perhaps the artifact shall forever remain out of the grip of both Lanys and any other who would seek such awesome and destructive power.

The Forsaken

We have gained word that Cristanos Thex, Queen of the Teir'Dal, has deemed Lanys T'Vyl as an enemy of the Teir'Dal nation. Though The Dead remain out of the search for Lanys's apprehsion, Cristanos has stated clearly that any whom are caught actively giving their support to the forsaken child shall be branded as traitors and served the proper punishments beneath Neriak Law.

New found hope that this rampant evil shall be placed to a quick end has erupted throughout the prayers and hearts of those seeking a final peace to this chapter of turmoil.

Source: Rivervale Voice, Vol 1, 4, 5, 6

Lanys T'yvyl Searchs for Artifact

Lanys T'yvyl, foul Dark Elf and former chosen of Innoruuk, maintains a small but loyal following in the Teir'Dal community. It has been reported that she has been seeking to gather the pieces of an artifact, once considered cursed by the Teir'Dal. It is uncertain what she hopes to gain by piecing together this cursed device. We at the Voice believe that this bodes ill not only for we citizens of Rivervale but perhaps the Dark Elven people as well.

Dirty Dirty Dark Elves

Well friends, apparently the Demons from Neriak were not content to forever taint lovely Kithicor with their hated hate, nope nope nope. Now ugly ol' Lanys herself has taken up home inside of Befallen ( the place with the skeletons, after the forest before Freeport where the humans live you know). What is a halfling that only wants peace and tranquility to do in such proximity to so ugly nasty dirty a race as them? For one thing, do not go near to the Befallen place, not that we can travel our own forest at night anymore, harrumph.

Remember these helpful hints, Halflings of the Vale: eat a hearty meal before leaving your house (never know when you might need the strength). never be afraid to call to a deputy for help (that's what they are there for after all), don't go through the forest at night (can't stress that enough - in fact, once the sun goes down, you might just want to rest), and of course never ever ever accept gifts from a dark elf, no matter how shiny or tasty.

Ding Dong The Witch is Dead

She had brought ruin to everything she touches. She has forever cursed our forest with the unsettled souls of the dead. She is also very, very ugly. And now she is dead.

Yippppppeeeeeee!!!!!!

Lanys T'Vyl who needs no further introduction has met with her final end it seems. After a very large battle in the Rathe Mountains, even the [Removed for Content] dirty dark elves had enough of her.

Although I guess not all of feel that way so stay clear of that place now because some of the dark elves have made a cult in memory of the mean old cur. What is important is that she won't be bothering us anymore, hurrah!!

'Tis a Good Day to be a Halfling

In case there are those of you that have not heard, steer far clear from the Mountains of Rathe. The Dark Elves, in their constant war with themselves, have some splinter group setting up there now (I think it has something to do with the dirty Lanys T'Vyl, but who can keep up with that bunch?). 'tis a good day to be a halfling.

The Dark Elves are, as always, at war with each other. The Humans are diseased. The Elves' Champion has run off to Kunark and no one know why. The Dwarves and Gnomes are short. And, Alas, there are we halflings. Look around Rivervale, won't you?

We are eating well and filled with merriment. Find a mirror and remind yourself how lucky you are. Go down to the river with a fresh bowl of Ell's finest, bask in the lazy sunlight and have not a care in the world.

Source: Royal Herald, Vols 3-6

Lanys T'Vyl's Whereabouts Still Unknown

For all of our safety, the royal guards of Felwithe, with the cooperation of the Paladins of Tunare, do their best to keep watch on the fallen child of hate. However, she has managed to slip beneath their notice for the time being and that can not be good. What she is seeking we do not know, but let this serve as a warning to all of Felwithe to be at its sharpest, for whatever she is up to will certainly involve the High Elves in some way. To do your part, see Talisyn Stormwing in the Faydark. Remember, the safety of the Kingdom is everyone's responsibility.

The Child of Hate Indeed

Lanys T'Vyl's very nature has finally gotten so bad, that the dreaded Teir'Dal have turned their back on her. Things went sour between the child of hate and the people of Neriak after her defeat in Kithicor Forest ad the hands of Firiona. Tunare's Chosen set into motion that day a chain of events that is only now coming full circle. The Kingdom of Naythos and Cristanos Thex have made it publicly known that Lanys is no longer their champion. Indeed they seek to bring her in themselves, by overwhelming force as they seem to always do. reports say Lanys has overtaken Befallen and is using it as her new home. She still has some loyal zealots and only a fool would not assume that she is not up to something. King Thex seems to be amassing a sizable force, presumable preparing to invade Lanys' new hole. A battle seems imminent and whatever the outcome, Neriak will surely suffer.

The End of the Child of Hate?

Many of you know because you got caught up in it, some of you even lost one close to you, but it appears we may have seen the last of Lanys T'vyl. A huge battle erupted in middle of Rathe Mountains between those Teir'Dal still loyal to Lanys and Neriak itself. No one is sure, but one would have to assume that Thex had simply had enough of her games. The battle was fierce as the Dark Elves cut each other down by the dozens upon dozens. Reports say that it was only the intervention of Mayong Mistmoore himself that stopped the fighting. That is hardly all though. Our sources confirm that Innoruuk himself made an appearance after the struggle and this is the part we should all be wary of. None outside of the very Plane of Hate can be certain, but the evidence suggests that there is a successor to lanys' position at the right hand of the Prince of Hate. This is something that we will be watching closely. Let us all give a prayer to the Earth Mother that Firiona will be strong enough to face this new threat down as she did Lanys back in the battle for Kithicor.

Beware "The Malevolent"

Our spies have sent word that Neriak and their vile Innoruuk have seen fit to deliver the artifact Malevolence upon one of their ilk. It is unknown as of yet who it was that was given such a dubious gift, but one can be sure that we will hear more from this missionary of hate. It seems, most unfortunately, that the recent attempts of the Teir Dal to return Malevolence to its former function were successful or their Priests would no doubt have taken care to keep the wretched thing far from public scrutiny. Instead, we must bear the burden of keeping this malevolent chosen one from corrupting us.

Beware the power of the artifact, children of Tunare. The legends say that it can do more than simply steal your soul from your waking body. It can keep from ever knowing eternal peace at the side of the Mother of All for, any sacrifice made to malevolence will be the property of Innoruuk himself. There is no worse fate that could befall you. Please, take heed.

Source: Tinker’s News & World Report, Vols 4-6

Dark Elven Civil War?

We can be thankful that things are relatively calm and peaceful here in our home of Akanon, save the occasional explosion or homicidal clockwork beast of course. However trouble continues to brew in the Neriak, the home to the Teir'Dal.

Their queen Cristanos Thex, offered a warning that was both sternly worded and foreboding. She declared that any of Neriak's citizens that were found assisting or helping Lanys T'Vyl in any way would face execution!

As these rumbles from across the world roll in, we here at TNWR are happy that we live in a society that respects its citizens and allows us freedom of association!

How the Mighty Fall!

Lanys T'vyl, former sweetheart of the Teir'Dal, was slain by the people she once held in thrall! An epic battle took place in Rathe Mountains. Lanys's forces clashed against the mighty army of Neriak. After a bloody battle, the former chosen was subdued and captured.

Reports indicated that after capture, she was taken back to Neriak where a terrible ritual sacrifice took place. Rumors say that Innoruuk himself appeared that day and removed the last of her life force personally.

More Infighting In Neriak

In what has now become a comical display of childish intolerance, those nasty Dark Elves decided they would fight over the body of their cold-as-stone-dead "chosen" Lanys T'Vyl. Apparently, those psychotic enough to remain loyal to a corpse wanted to keep the body of their revered and way-not-alive leader with them.

At the same time, those back in Neriak also wanted the body of Lanys. So those crafty elves cooked up some story to tell this so-called "Baron" who was guarding the corpse in the ruins of Befallen of all places. Whether it worked or not, we are not sure but we do have it on very good authority that the body of Lanys T'Vyl is in the hands of Neriak now. At least it is for this week anyway.

A schism still seems to exist within Teir'Dal society with many vowing to continue to follow Lanys, if only in memory. Reports are flooding in that already a large outpost is in the process of being constructed by these still rabid and devote followers of the dead woman. This reporter thinks they should just get over it and move on already!

Edit: Stupid word code

I'm missing some texts from the newspapers so I'm trying to recover them. Logged into EQ only to find out that Vols 8+ are the only volumes available now in EQ (those are Wayfarers Brotherhood and on). I couldn't find the epic timeline text verbatim anywhere online and my SK is just about to start the epic timeline, so I'll paste it then (unless a friend I asked has a copy of it in his log).

Gimme a day or so to see what more I can get here and sure, I've got some about FV. I'll post it too. Their stories are rather intertwined.

Sorry for the delay in posting. Real life kicks in.

Got the sk to 80 and did the fabled epic and am currently transcribing the quest text for the lore about Lanys, Primordial Malice, and Malevolence. The epic quests are all basically lore gems.

_______________________

Start of the SK Epic:Kill two Teir'dal rogues (Nik U'ronu and Talon P'Radim) in the Academy of Arcane Science and retrieve a hiring contract.Item lore: It looks as though someone is offering quite a bit of money for information regarding something alled the Bloody Kithicor Orb. Quest Text: I killed two rogues trying to steal some information from the Academy of Arcane Science! The hiring contract that one of them carried leads me to believe they were looking for a very powerful item. Though it is vague, they were being paid an incredible sum of money. The item must be something of great importance, which means its time to find out what it is they are searching for and make it mine! A shadowknight will take any opportunity to gain power!

Step 1 Text & Dialogue: The crest on the envelope for this hiring contract appears to be Teir'Dal.My first task is to follow this contract back to its source! The two rogues, having been Tier'Dal, lead me to believe that I should begin my search somewhere in or around Neriak. No one envies those who poke around in the affairs of the Tier'Dal.

Task: Speak to Marla K'Stane in Hate's Envy/

--Hail, Marla K'StaneMarla K'Stane says to you, "I am wiating for someone, did you need something? I would assume so since you are standing there staring at me with that vacant expression." --I happened to pick up a contract that you issued; I understand you are looking for someone to obtain a rare artifact?Marla K'Stane says to you, "You are not the one that I entrusted. You have some nerve showing up here."--Look, I am obviously more capable. Why don't you tellme what you are looking for?Marla K'Stane says to you, "Yes, well assuming you ahd to have taken that by force, I guess we can conclude that you are indeed more capable. Very well. I seek an orb, once owned by Laarthik K'Shin, mentor of Lanys T'Vyl. The orb was last used at the Battle of Bloody Kithicor and it is a very powerful artifact mined from the depths of Highkeep." --How do I find this "orb"?Marla K'Stane says to you, "I have done massive amounts of research; there is an item that could help locate the orb. Laarthik's bones were twisted by Lanys and turned into a powerful shield. It is in the possession of an extremely powerful and dangerous Lucanic Knight by the name of Sir Sayex Nevagon." --How do you propose I take an item so valuable from a Lucanic Knight?Marla K'Stane says to you, "Here is where things get interesting. There is a report I have been made aware of that contains confidential material concerning Sayex's first battle as a militia member. DUring a skirmish with the Rallosian Army in the Southern Deserts of Ro, Sayex displayed cowardice and was detrimental to his unit's combat strenght. Since that time Sayex has turned around and become an exemplary soldier and shadowknight. This mark of cowardice along with his dark elf race, though, should have kept Sayex from becoming a Lucanic Knight. If word got out about the mark on his record many people would raise the concern that Sayex shouldnt' be worthy of a Lucanic Knight and that the one reaso he is is because his family is very close to the Overlord."--So you want me to find this document and use the report to blackmail him into giving up the shield?Marla K'Stane says to you, "Would you expect anything less treacherous from a Teir'dal?"--And where is this report?Marla K'Stane says to you, "I am afraid that will be where you earn your money. I am unsure; I only know that it is in Freeport. I would imagine somewhere that they would keep reports." --What exactly are we supposed to do with the shield?Marla K'Stane says to you, "I alone have the means to divine the shield and speak to Laarthik's Spirit, he should be able to tell us what has become of the orb. Everything I need is on this scroll."--Well! If everything needed is on the scroll, then I do not see much more use for you. It is more money for me when I sell it off to the highest bidder. Marla K'Stane says to you, "You will regret this!" --Yes! I may well!Kill Marla K'Stane. Loot Mage's Divining Scroll. Item Lore: This is the scroll taken from Marla'Kstan. It has the steps and items needed listed on it to divine Laarthik K'Shin's spirit. Hopefully that will assist with finding the Kithicor Orb. Quest Complete Text: I found Marla K'Stane and extracted all the information I need to continue. Now to head to Freeport!

Step 1 Complete: I spoke to Marla K'Stane, she was most helpful until she became useless._______________________

Step 2 Text & Dialogue: I need to search Freeport for a confidential record concerning Sir Sayex Nevagon! Sir Sayex Nevagon says to you, "You need to move along! I don't tolerate any sort of loitering." -- I think you may well tolerate it this time. We need to talk. Sir Sayex Nevagon says to you, "How dare you talk down to a Lucanic Knight!? I will have your head on a platter, fool!" -- What say we discuss this report I have! Something about cowardice in the line of duty? Southern Ro? Ring any bells?Sir Sayex Nevagon says to you, "You worm! I should rend you into a grease smear on the cobblestones!"-- If word got out about this, people may raise some questions. It may be hard to see you remaining in your position of honor for long . . . Sir Sayex Nevagon says to you, "Grrr! You obviously have me in a corner. What is it you desire from me?" -- You have an item, Laarthik's Bone Shield. I desire it. That is all and you can consider me and my information gone forever. Sir Sayex Nevagon says to you, "Never! You ask for a family heriloom, handed down to me by my father!" -- Very well, I can see that copies of this are plastered all ove rthe city. I already made copies, and who knows where those might be. Sir Sayex Nevagon says to you, "No need, no need. Here, take the shield and be gone. Give me the report! Be aware, should we ever meet outside this city, you will have no chance at escape. I will kill you." -- Hopefully you will never see me again to have that chance. Here you go, Sir Sayex.
Step 5Start: I am now looking for a group called the Primordial Malice, and a brother who has slain his own brother in pursuit of love though undesired.

Start:I am looking for someone who is imprisoned in the mouth of the venomous fangs.-- Travel to City of Mist at the Black Reaver spawn point and speak to Lharnc the Confined. --Hail, Lharnc the ConfinedLharnc the Confined says to you, "Who are you? Another adventurer unwilling to pay the ultimate price?"--I seek those who call themselves the Primordial Malice. Tell me what you know!Lharnc the Confined says to you, "What payment are you able to give that I could possibly desire? Information does not come cheaply."--Well, maybe there is something else you desire, ghost? Lharnc the Confined says to you, "I desire Kyrenna for my own. I desire revenge. I desire the destruction of another spirit.--And for this you will tell me what I need to know?Lharnc the Confined says to you, "Find my brother. Find Glohnor in the place of his death. He has fallen.Lharnc the Confined says to you, "Give me the sword! Give it to me now!"--I want to know where I will find the Primordial Malice. Tell me where they are and I shall give you the sword.Lharnc the Confined says to you, "Long ago, the Primordial Malice fled to Kunark to save themselves from the Teir'Dal Empire. You seek the one who calls them self the Primordial Ritualist. Now give it to me! Finally Kyrenna will be mine!"--Wait! Exactly how do I know you aren't lying? Why should I trust you?Lharnc the Confined says to you, "My talisman, it can sense them. They are here in Kunark, all over Kunark. It can sense their envy! Please! Give me the sword so I may finally summon Kyrenna for my own! Sweet lost love is mine!"-- Thank you for the information! Unfortunately, I require your talisman. I am sure you will not just give something so valuable to me. So I must take it.Lharnc the Confined says to you, "You will not keep Kyrenna from me!"-- I am afraid I must!Lharnc the Envious says, "Glohner was weak, I will destroy you!"- Kill Lharnc and loot the Talisman of Envy. Now I need to locate and draw out one of their agents!

Start: I need to find and draw out an agent of the Primordial Malice! Find he who is covetous!- Talk to Yeal Jouse in Teren's Grasp.-- Hail, Yeal JouseYeal Jouse says to you, "How long have I lived in this city? Labored here! And yet many others here have more wealth than me. Many others have better armor and a stronger horse. It should be mine as well!"-- Life isn't fair, what are you whining about?Yeal Jouse says to you, "I want to be rewarded for the time I have put in here! I want armor and horses like many others have here! I can not lie that I desire more from life! I desire what others have!"--Well do what I do, go out and take it.Complete: I believe this is the agent I am looking for!

Start: I should think of a way to get more information from this Yeal Jouse!-- Use the Talisman of Envy on Yeal Jouse. He is revealed to be a dark elf named Iroah V'Enah. Talk to him. -- Hail Iroan V'EnahIroah V'Enah says to you, "I know I am pitiful. It is rather hard trying to covet what others have rather then take it."-- Why do you do so? You are hiding something obviously!Iroah V'Enah says to you, "I am afraid I can not tell you that. Where did you get that amulet? I could use such an item to break illusions as you have done, will you sell it?"-- You are a member of the Primordial Malice, aren't you?Iroah V'Enah says to you, "I know nothing of which you speak. Sell me that fabulous amulet you have would you? I will pay you handsomely!"--Where is the Kithicor Orb? Tell me or I will make short your time here on this plane!Iroah V'Enah says to you, "You do not scare me fool! I am not some whelp to be ordered around! "--Sounds to me like only one of us is going to walk out of here alive then, my friend!Iroah V'Enah says to you, "Although... if I may gain something here, then I may be willing to give you some sort of ...direction."-- What exactly do you want? But I will tell you, I am about to just go for a beating here!Iroah V'Enah says to you, "Give me the amulet you used to break my disguise and I will tell you where you can find more information! Nothing more! Believe me when I say I am well trained and not afraid to fight you!"--I want to know where your leader is! No more games! I give you this amulet and you will tell me exactly where to find him!Iroah V'Enah says to you, "Her...you mean to find her. She is in one of the cities in Kunzar Jungle. I cannot tell you which because she and her Iksar bodyguard move around regularly for obvious reasons. You will know her bodyguard by his armor, no doubt. Either way, whatever city they are in at the time, most of those cities do not take kindly to strangers. I can tell you nothing more."--I guess that will have to be enough, here is the amulet! I hope you choke on it!Complete: I used the Talisman of Envy and now have the location of the leader of the Primordial Malice!

I managed to draw out an agent of the Primordial Malice. For the exchange of the Talisman, he gave me some information so I can proceed!_________________Step 7Start: I should seek out the leader of the Primordial Malice in one of the cities within the Kunzar Jungle.

Start: I am looking for an Iksar in one of the cities in Kunzar Jungle. That should be easy...- Go to Jinisk in KJ, talk to Sszot Skiks (the iks sk, oh ho!)-- Hail, Sszot Skiks.Sszot Skiks says to you in Sathirian, "As it seems you are looking for me, I can only assume that you seek the Primordial Ritualist. I assume you wouldn't dare waste my time otherwise."--I spoke to Iroah V'Enah. He sent me here to speak to the Ritualist. I seek information concerning an item and was told she would know where to find it.Sszot Skiks says to you in Sathirian, "I see. Well then you may proceed. I would highly recommend you waste even less of Atira's time."-- I will try my best not to waste her..."time".Complete: I have spoken to Sszot!

Start: I should speak to Atira X'aphon, leader of the Primordial Malice!-- Hail, Atira X'aphon.Atira X'aphon says to you, "You have touched the tomb of Lanys T'Vyl! You have seen her mortal remains! I can sense her presence on you!"-- I have and I have also spoken to Laarthik! I search for an orb, can you help me?Atira X'aphon says to you, "The tomb still remains where we placed it? Hidden to all eyes except for the one who possesses the shield?"-- It is underwater in a tunnel. But yes, it still remains hidden. I do however need some questions answered.Atira X'aphon says to you, "Evil. I sense such powerful evil and...envy! You were sent to me for a reason!"-- I hope you will answer some questions. I am looking for an orb, once owned by Laarthik, used at the Battle of Bloody Kithicor. Tell me what you know of it!Atira X'aphon says to you, "Why would you seek such a thing? What use would that be to a dark champion such as your beautiful self? Mmmm?"-- I only know that it is a powerful and extremely valuable artifact. My hope is to gain its power! I am shadowknight and power is all I desire!Atira X'aphon says to you, "The orb you seek is lost friend. It has been for an age. But if its power you seek, then maybe you would listen to my story? Maybe we can help each other!"-- What? I have searched too far to leave with nothing! Do not play games with me Ritualist! Tell me your story, but it had better end in some form that I desire!Atira X'aphon says to you, "Mmm, where do I begin? We are the Primordial Malice, followers of Lanys T'Vyl, Child of Hate and Innoruuk's daughter! Due to this, we were branded outlaws by the forces of Neriak and we fled to this wonderful wilderness to evade their armies. Long ago, our goddess was forsaken, scorned, and abandoned for her failure at the Battle of Bloody Kithicor. For this Lanys sought to destroy her father and take his place as the God of Hate. She was almost successful..."-- continue to listen angrilyAtira X'aphon says to you, "The new Child of Hate, Valizrae D'Tora, was rendered powerless and Lanys' quest for the ancient artifact of Hate, Malevolence, was nearly complete. If it was not for the intervention of the vampire lord, Mayong Mistmoore, Lanys would have likely undone all the plans of Innoruuk. Sadly, Lanys was killed on Norrath and her soul was sent back to her father and the Plane of Hate. Initially, Innoruuk imprisoned his failure of a creation, but decided to tap into her eternal hatred and jealousy of him, and transformed her prison into the Sphere of Envy. From here, Lanys, could influence Envy upon Norrath and in turn empower Innoruuk's own Plane of Hate. The thought of unwillingly helping her father gain power infuriated Lanys even more, which in turn only increased the benefit to Hate."-- continue to listen angrilyAtira X'aphon says to you, "On Norrath, we remained devout in following Lanys. We toiled unceasingly to do her work even after her physical destruction! It would be the Primordial Malice that Lanys would seek out during the consolidation of the Planes. We were the chosen ones; we would place our mortal assault upon the Planes of Power! The primary planes of Nature and Influence needed to reabsorb the demi-planes and spheres they spawned in order to survive during the first part of the Age of War. "--Tell me of Sedition!Atira X'aphon says to you, "Innoruuk, with all the glee in his dark being began the process of reclaiming the Sphere of Envy. During this period of reclamation, a small rift revealed itself in Lanys' prison for only the briefest moment. A moment that seemed an eternity to her, she took this opportunity and imbued the dark blade Sedition with a portion of the Sphere of Envy and bestowed it onto her followers. A dark smile would be the last thing to cross her lips before her spiritual essence was absorbed by the Plane of Hate."-- continue to listen angrilyAtira X'aphon says to you, "This great sword of Lanys, has remained hidden in our keeping. In hope that one day we would find a dark champion, a shadowknight of unprecedented power that would carry the blade and bring about the glory of Lanys T'Vyl! What say you dark one? Are you the champion we have searched an age for?"--I am that champion, tell me what I would do!

Atira X'aphon says to you, "As much as I long for you to be that champion, or dare I say I need you to be that champion, you must first pass a test. Long ago four chosen Teir'Dal, known as the Crimson Teir were chosen by Innoruuk himself to wear four special armor pieces. Each piece secretly drained their life force into it. Lanys T'Vyl was sent on a quest by her father to kill each of them off and collect the armor pieces, granting her an incredibly powerful suit of armor. However, they were raised by Mayong Mistmoore and ordered to destroy us and thwart any plans Lanys may have had. You must find Tovin D'Rin, Jerak T'Shir, Mydraa K'Syk and Talik K'Syk and destroy them. Bring me their heads and I will consider the ultimate test passed. If you fall to them, then obviously this was not meant to be!"

-- So where are these members of the Crimson Teir?

Atira X'aphon says to you, "I can tell you very little about their whereabouts except this, they are in search of ancient knowledge for their master, any knowledge that would lead them to us. Recent intelligence has made us aware that they know that the Primordial Malice is in Kunark and that the Crimson Teir are indeed here. Tovin and Jerak are loners and very powerful, I highly doubt they would travel as companions. However, Mydraa and Talik are brother and sister and practically inseparable. So when you do find them, use great care, the Crimson Teir are not to be taken lightly."

-- Consider them dead! I will return with their heads! Ready this Sedition for my return!

Complete: I have spoken to Atira!

Step 7 Complete: In my quest to find this orb, I have come across one who tells me there is far greater power to be had! Of course I am completely interested!______________Step 8Start: I have been promised a weapon of great power! I need only eliminate the Crimson Teir! My only clue is that they have come to Kunark and they seek knowledge of the Primordial Malice! Any knowledge they can get their hands on.

Start: I must seek out and slay Tovin D'Rin in Kunark!-- Kill him in the Library in Karnor's CastleComplete: I have slain Tovin D'Rin and collected his head!

Start: I must seek out and slay Jerak T'Shir in Kunark!-- Kill him in Teren's Grasp Complete: I have slain Jerak T'Shir and collected his head!

Start: I must seek out and slay the K'Syk Twins in Kunark!-- Kill them in Chelsith on the platform with the final boss. Complete: I have slain the K'Syk twins and collected their heads!

Step 8 Complete: The Crimson Teir are dead! Now to bring their heads back to the Primordial Ritualist!

Edit: Added text I accidentally left out.

Step 9Start: The Crimson Teir have been eliminated, I need to return their heads to the leader of the Primordial Malice!Start: I need to bring back the heads of the Crimson Teir to Atira X'aphon!-- Hail, Atira X'aphon.Atira X'aphon says to you, "The dark champion returns bearing gifts, I see?"--The Crimson Teir has been eliminated! I of course brought souvenirs! Atira X'aphon says to you, "Wonderful! Fabulous! You truly may be the dark champion we seek! I see now that you can be trusted with the most delicate of tasks! With the Crimson Teir gone, the Malice can breath so much more easily!"-- What task? When do I receive Sedition?Atira X'aphon says to you, "I realize I promised you Sedition, but now that I know you are truly the champion we seek we can take the measures we need to complete Sedition. I seek an item, called Malevolence. A great scepter of power! Set within its head lays the Bloodmoon Gem! When Sedition was created, the intent was to use the Bloodmoon Gem against Innoruuk himself. Sedition longs to have the Bloodmoon Gem seated in its cross-guard. Only then will Sedition become what it is meant to be, what it must be! Malevolence was used carelessly by the mortal it was entrusted to, and its wielder was killed while assaulting the enemy."-- continue to listenAtira X'aphon says to you, "The weapon was recovered by the agents of Dorvias N'Keth, Archpriest of Innoruuk. Sensing more recklessness in the future, and knowing the potential for the weapon, Mayong Mistmoore intervened. He convinced the Crimson Triad that the weapon must be placed in safekeeping until the three of them could agree on a perfect candidate for it. He took the weapon and sealed it in a chest of his own making. To the members of the Triad he gave each of them an emblem, that when used together, would allow them to open the chest once a suitable champion has been found."-- Who is the Crimson Triad? Atira X'aphon says to you, "The Crimson Triad was Dorvias N'Keth, King Naythox Thex and the prophet Ashteth T'Dral. As to the locations of the emblems, I know only this. King Naythox was killed and his emblem lost. Only his dragoons were present. Dorvias N'Keth still lives and is somewhere inside Neriak. Dorvias knows what the emblems are actually for and most likely feels that the other two emblems are lost. Since he does know what they do, I can assure you he will be very protective of it."-- contineu to lisenAtira X'aphon says to you, "And finally when Ashteth passed, having been extremely old, his emblem somehow fell into the hands of Xilania Nevagon. So I would assume that Xilania Nevagon would have it. Procure the three emblems and use them to open the chest which is in the very top of the tower of Darklight Palace. Bring back Malevolence to me and we shall make Sedition whole!"-- I will return with Malevolence! I will warn you, Sedition had better be here, Ritualist!Complete: I have spoken to Atira X'aphon!Step 9 Complete: I have returned the heads of the Crimson Teir and now I search for an item called Malevolence!____________Step 10Start: I need to seek out the three emblems once owned by the Crimson Triad! Then I must claim Malevolence!Start: I must find the person who has the King's Emblem and obtain it!- Find Dragoon K'Naae in Nektulos and talk to him. You must have completed the Shiny Brass Halberd first. -- Hail, Dragoon K'NaaeDragoon K'Naae/a says to you, "You are indeed a friend of the Thexian cause. Though I owe you no debt, what brings you here?"-- I have come in search of something you may still carry. Though I will not pretend, I can not tell you why I want it. I am on a secret mission that involves many from the past.Dragoon K'Naae says to you, "That is honorable that you do not try and deceive me outright. I know of the item of which you speak, I picked up the emblem long ago, at Felwithe. It was the only dutiful thing I could think to do at the time of his falling. I will admit, it has been time out of mind and I really have no idea what significance the emblem has. The fact that you need it means it is important, long had I considered it a useless item, perhaps a broach of some type. You did save my life once, so I will afford you perhaps a trade for the emblem."-- Once you gave me this weapon for saving your life, I think it would be a fair trade. I know you would welcome its return! Would you take the Shiny Brass Halberd?Dragoon K'Naae says to you, "I can still feel the magic it possesses. Many an enemy has fallen to that weapon whether in my possession or that of another. You are wise to offer me a weapon above anything else. Here, take the emblem, friend of the Thexians. I know now that you have no ill intent."-- Thank you K'Naae! Until we meet again!- Recieve The King's Emblem!Item Lore: An emblem given to King Naythox Thex by Mayong Mistmoore! Leave my chamber before I become testy!"-- I am looking for an item you may posses. Do you have the Archpriest's Emblem? Dorvias N'Keth says to you, "What? How could you possibly know about that? You’ll never get Malevolence! Never! MINIONS! KILL HIM!"-- Have it your way! I guess we do this the hard way!- Kill Dorvias N'Keth and loot The Archpriest's EmblemItem Lore: An emblem given to Archpriest Dorvias N'Keth by Mayong Mistmoore! If you are here to devote yourself to our malevolent god, then you need to speak to one of the priestesses. I am the voice of hate; I have no time for someone simply seeking advancement in our church. "-- Actually, I am here with business that directly involves you alone, Lady of Hate.Xilania Nevagon says to you, "So then you seek my sword to cleave your obviously empty skull?"-- I have no doubt that your sword would remove my head if that is what you desired Seraph. I am actually looking for something you may posses; I seek the Prophet's Emblem. Xilania Nevagon says to you, "The Prophet's Emblem? Such a dingy little knick knack, what ever do you want that for?"-- I will not lie to you Seraph...Xilania Nevagon says to you, "Wait! I really do not care. Perhaps we can help each other? What do you think? You do think, don't you?"--I try to. Help each other?Xilania Nevagon says to you, "Yes, help. You want the Prophet's Emblem, a silly little icon from a time long past and I require an assistant. Seems to work does it not?"--What would you have me do Seraph?Xilania Nevagon says to you, "Excellent question...Excellent tone...I think we understand each other. Perhaps you do know your place in the way things are shadowknight...I am searching for great relics, armor pieces from a time long past, armor that would be of no use to you. Find these items and bring them to me and I will give you your silly little emblem. I will even provide you with a list."-- Where should I search Seraph?Xilania Nevagon says to you, "Well now, that is part of the task isn't it? I can tell you where I might look, but I fear that I would be wrong. I would think perhaps somewhere that you would find artifacts? A tomb or a vault?"-- Very well Seraph, I will return when I have the items you desire!- The Seraph wants you to collect what is essentially Lanys' armor * The Blood Ember Gauntlets -- Shiverback Pyramid, Shard of Fear * The Blood Ember Shoulders -- Skeletal Master Tower, Shard of Fear * The Blood Ember Bracer -- Dracoliche area, Shard of Fear * The Darkforge Greaves -- Behind Skeletal Lord Tower, Shard of Fear * The Darkforge Breastplate -- Terror's Pyramid, Shard of Fear * The Blood Lord's Boots -- Drusella Sathir's Room, Charasis: Maiden's Chamber * The Umbral Helm -- Last room, Charasis: Vault of Eternal Sleep- Return to Neriak and talk to the Seraph-- Hail, Xilania Nevagon. Very well, here take the dingy little knick knack you so healthfully desire!"-- Thank you Seraph! Here are the items you asked for!Xilania Nevagon says to you, "Ahh, well I think I got the better half of this deal! Because after my golem has killed you, I will take the symbol back from your cold and very dead hands! Good bye...shadowknight!"-- ...- Kill an Umbral Destroyer.- Recieve The Prophet's Emblem.Item Lore: An emblem given to the prophe Ashteth T'Dral by Mayong Mistmoore! It is one of three emblems that are the keys to the impregnable chest that contains Malevolence and hopefully the Bloodmoon Gem!- Speak to the Seraph-- Hail, Xilania Nevagon.Xilania Nevagon says to you, "RETURN THE EMBLEM, FOOL!"-- I am afraid I cannot do that. Xilania Nevagon says to you, "Mark my words fool! One day you will come to regret this . . . entirely."-- When we meet again Seraph!Complete: I have the Prophet's Emblem!Step 10 Complete: I need to find the chest in Darklight Palace and use the emblems to unlock it!______________-Step 11Start: I must take the three emblems to Darklight Palace and claim Malevolence from the chest!Start: I must recover Malevolence and the Bloodmoon Gem!- Go to the Darklight Palace and look under the Queen's Bed. Sadly the Bloodmoon Gem was no where to be found!Step 11 Complete: I should return to the Primordial Malice Leader with the news!__________Stage 12Start: I need to go back and give the remaining pieces of Malevolence to Atira X'aphon! Either way, she better be ready to turn over Sedition as promised!Start: I need to speak to Atira X'aphon, leader of the Primordial Malice and tell her the situation with Malevolence and the Bloodmoon Gem.-- Hail, Atira X'aphon.Atira X'aphon says to you, "I sense completion of the task; however, I can see in your eyes that all is not well."-- I have recovered Malevolence, as you asked of me. This was no easy task. However, the Bloodmoon Gem was not with the remaining pieces.Atira X'aphon says to you, "You have accomplished amazing tasks, shadowknight. Although I cannot deny this is a disappointment, I did however make you a promise. Sedition is yours to wield in the name of Lanys T'Vyl and Envy! You are indeed our dark champion!"-- Thank you Ritualist! I will wield it without mercy!Atira X'aphon says to you, "However, our task is not complete. Sedition was created to carry the Bloodmoon in its cross-guard. Give me time to think; please...we must decide how to further proceed."Complete: The sword called Sedition is mine!Step 12 Complete: I now wield Sedition! The power I sought for so long is now mine!Quest Complete: The sword called Sedition is mine! Though the road was long and the trials hard, I never dreamed to have the opportunity to wield such power! The Primordial Ritualist claims that the Sword will not be complete till it has the Bloodmoon Gem in its Cross Guard. I should return later and speak to her more in depth about this. Obviously any opportunity to turn things in my direction, I will make no hesitation to seize!________________Mythical Text Starter: <note: I have not completed the Mythical. Here is the text I could find regarding the quest and the dialogue that Atira gives you to start it.>-- Hail, Atira X'aphonAtira X'aphon says to you, "Long ago, the Malevolence was cursed by Marr, to wither Innoruuk's power with each kill that Malevolence made. Since then it has been cured of this, and now is an instrument for the benefit of Innoruuk. Take this scroll, upon it is the ritual to change exactly who reaps the power from the Bloodmoon Gem. We must change it to benefit Lanys T'Vyl and the power of Envy once you have retrieved the gem."-- My hope is that you have an idea of where the Bloodmoon Gem is located. Atira X'aphon says to you, "Mayong was the executor of Malevolence being locked away. The problem is you cannot just go and ask Mistmoore for the Gem. First you will need to find proof that he actually has it."-- Once I know he has the Bloodmoon I can approach him?Atira X'aphon says to you, "Approach him? You will need to take it forcefully. However, until you have solid proof he has it, it would be pointless to mount an attack. It would be a slaughter for no point other then senseless blood. Where you are going to find this proof I cannot tell you. Mayong is not the type to just leave a trail of information. When you do have it, I would go directly to his inner sanctum and confront him!"-- I will search all the lands for this proof, then I will take the Bloodmoon Gem from Mayong Mistmoore!A Bloodmoon Rising!Start: After recovering Malevolence I found that the Bloodmoon Gem, the true target, was no longer mounted in the scepter. I now wield Sedition, however, the sword was meant to have the Bloodmoon Gem in its cross-guard. This would make the weapon significantly more powerful! I must find the gem and use the ritual. The question is, why would I empower Lanys T'Vyl and not myself? The true wielder of Sedition!Step 1:Start: I need to find some shred of evidence that Mayong does in fact have the Bloodmoon Gem.Start: I must find some evidence that proves Mayong Mistmoore has the Bloodmoon Gem.Complete: I have found a note that may give me what I need!Start: I should look at the note more closely.Complete: I have found all the evidence I need. Time to confront Mayong in his Inner Sanctum!Apparently the Bloodmoon Gem was used recently as bait for a plot Mayong Mismoore was involved in. Perhaps he still has the gem.Stage 2I have found all the evidence I need. Time to confront Mayong in his Inner Sanctum.Start: Mayong Mistmoore has the Bloodmoon Gem. It is time to go into his Inner Sanctum and take it.Complete: I have defeated Mayong and I now have the Bloodmoon Gem!I have the Bloodmoon Gem. Now I should carefully inspect it.Stage 3According to the ritual scroll I need the heart of a Slave King. Well, at least I know it's a king...Start: Seek out the heart of a Slave King!Complete: I have defeated the Overking and taken his heart!I have defeated the Overking and taken his heart.Stage 4I must obtain the blood of a covetous brood mother!Start: I need to obtain the blood of a covetous brood mother!Complete: I have Phara Dar's blood!I have slain Phara Dar and taken her blood!Stage 5I should use the primordial scroll and perform the ritual.Start: I should use the primordial scroll and perform the ritual!Complete: I have focused the Bloodmoon Gem! It is now empowered to me!I have focused the Bloodmoon Gem to me instead of Lanys T'VylStage 6I need to seek out the Primordial Ritualist, Atira X'aphon, and have her attach Bloodmoon to Sedition!Start: I need to return to the Primordial Ritualist and have her attach Bloodmoon to Sedition!Complete: I have spoken to Atira X'aphon!I have slain the Primordial Ritualist and have brought Sedition alive!
2. points of intereste from your text, and tyvm for the dialogue its very well done.

1. Atira X'aphon is an interesting name for the informant in Jinisk, she shares the same last name as the dark elven ghost priestess of Ullkorruuk for the Brigand Epic, High Priestess Kirstiana X'aphon, maybe the name is very normal for Teir'Dal or maybe they are relation.

more importantly

2. Nevagon....

Xilania Nevagon we met pre-eof as the Seraph of Hate, where she hinted Lucan and her were related in some way, she even mocked his power when players asked if she feared his retribution for bringing power to other gods aside from the Overlord. She currently resides in Neriak.... a Half elf ... as the Seraph of Hate in the middle of the city of Hate, of TeirDal.... how.. odd, that she would be alowed such a position as a half breed with the racist spite the Dark elves have toward other races... then oddly this text appears in the SK epic text.

Sayex from becoming a Lucanic Knight. If word got out about the mark on his record many people would raise the concern that Sayex shouldnt' be worthy of a Lucanic Knight and that the one reaso he is is because his family is very close to the Overlord.

--- You have an item, Laarthik's Bone Shield. I desire it. That is all and you can consider me and my information gone forever. Sir Sayex Nevagon says to you, "Never! You ask for a family heriloom, handed down to me by my father!"

Sayex Nevagon is the Lucanic Knight you gain Larrthik's bone shield from, he is a Dark elf, and shares the same last name as Xilania, Nevagon, perhaps were starting to uncover things about Lucan and the Seraph of Hate that have been made secret to us for so long.

I think we also get some interesting information about Mayong.

Here we have Mayong Mistmoore doing everything he can to stand in the way of Lanys T'Vyl. Why?

He stops her from using Malevolence. He resurrects the Crimson Triad in order to stop Primordial Malice. He steals the Bloodmoon Gem (which is Lanys' gem as she is the Child of the Blood Moon).

In addition, he makes a pact with a prophet, the King, and the High Priest. This pact, incidentally, keeps Malevolence out of the hands of the Queen (she had the weapon just sitting under her bed). Did he do it to spite the Queen or keep her out of power? His actions seem to serve Innoruuk, but is that true? What is his purpose?

Mayong did what he did with Layns because she kidnapped one of HIS servants. that's why he was [Removed for Content] and dealt with it. he makes the pact obviously after the previous owner screwed up using it. But apparently he kept the gem head/retrieved it later.

he reformed the crimson triad, to find the Primordial Malice. I wouldn't be surprised if he was intending to do exactly like we do as players, and take the sword, put the bloodmoon gem in it and attune it to himself.
