I'm just curious how many other people get this sort of crash constantly while changing characters. It seems to happen most often when the toon i'm camping out of and the toon i'm camping into are both in the guild hall, but it HAS happened in other zones when using the "/camp (character name)" command.

And I'd also think it was just my computer if it DIDN'T happen on both computers that I 2box on with completely different setups, IE: both have dualcores, but only one has 2 SLI'd Videos cards, processors and MOBOs are all different, yet its always the same error...

I would really really appreciate feedback if anyone else has this problem, cause I don't think it's just me and I'm pretty sure it's something Sony needs to look into on their end. As a side note this has been going on for a LONG time, probably since before the release of RoK, but I know for sure at least since Guildhalls were implemented cause that is where i've always seen it happen the most. Thanks for any info/feedback and/or someone at Sony looking into this =)

P.S.

I've done research and supposedly this is caused by bad registry entries, yet it happens in NO other game I play, and I've already tried a couple of the free registry cleaners/fixers and it STILL happens, I really don't know what to try next or where to go from here, again any info/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

EQ2 uses no registry entries at all, you can copy the directory over to a different machine, create a short cut on the desktop and play with no formal wininstall build.

Would help if you detail out the hardware and drivers that you are running, video and sound. There is a stickied thread showing what to run and how to post it.

Actually believe it or not Rothgar said last night to try disabling voice chat and it hasn't crashed while using the /camp command since, so it appears to be some sort of problem with voice chat, but thanks for the info Wing, i'll have to look that up and remember to post the info if I have any more problems =)

Yes, Rothgar is posting in another thread about this issue, here:

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=454862

It looks like this is a known issue and it's getting worked on. Turning off voice chat seems to help as a temporary workaround.

I just posted in that thread, but in case folks see this one first, voice chat is whats causing the problems (at least the ones i've been having). you can deactivate it before you /camp, and when you pop in as your next toon just reactivate it again and everything should work fine...

Just so everyone is aware, I'm pretty sure this is STILL happening even after the latest hot fix. I had turned off my voice chat and had no problems using /camp to switch between toons. With the latest hotfix and it mentioning some problems having been fixed with voicechat I turned it back on in hopes that the crashing while switching between toons with it being on was one of the fixes. Unfortunatly it still happened, so I turned it back off again and not a crash since =/ It works fine with voice chat on while i'm actually playing, but still can't /camp to switch toons unless its off =(

I'm not getting this > 0xc0000005 I am just crashing, EQ2 Client applicaiton has encountered a problem and needs to close when camping to another toon or to character select. It has been happening for a month or more now, it has never happened to me previously.
