Solo Bruiser who is now running the solo shard instance in LS.

I have ROK legendary and MC gear.

I have 5 shards so far. I found in U.J.L. two NPC's who sell shard armor. One is around 5 shards a piece and the other has better gear for 15-20 shards a piece.

Should I wait to buy the better gear or spend shards for the lower gear. When I upgrade to the better gear would I get credit for the shards spent on the lower gear?

How would you upgrade your armor if you were in my place?

Please bear with me-casual player and shard armor is new to me and searching forums didn't help.

Thanks!!

You must have the cheaper shard armor in order to upgrade to the second set. If you're tanking, buy the brawler specific armor. If you're doing some of both, buy 3 of the general use leather armor and 3 of the brawler set. If just dps'ing you can either do the combo routine or buy all wilderness set. Melee crit will be more beneficial for you than double attack for where you're at, so look at the second set of armor and plan appropriately. Combatant's Double Weave upgrade to --> Abandoned of the Jin Drake Wasted Wilderness upgrade to --> Wilderness Warrior's Recommended picks and order to acquire:(cost for T1 set and to upgrade to T2)

(05 + 16) Abandoned Gloves of the Jin Drake(12 + 30) Wilderness Warrior's Shoulderpads(10 + 24) Wilderness Warrior's Jerkin(05 + 16) Wilderness Warrior's Moccasins (06 + 20) Abandoned Leggings of the Jin Drake (06 + 20) Abandoned Kasa of the Jin Drake

You can save 1 shard on the T1 and 2 shards on the T2 if you have a player make it for you rather than buy directly from the merchant.

Reasoning: - Gloves give haste - Shoulders give 8% combat and spell damage boost - 3 set on Wilderness Warrior's / Wasted Wilderness give 4% more combat and spell damage boost - Wilderness Warrior chest has heal proc on melee, Wasted Wilderness chest has dps proc - other 3 pieces have more melee crit than their counterparts and complete 3 set bonus for both sets If the ONLY thing you're doing on that char is dps'ing and you're not going to tank at all, then you could just get all pieces from Wilderness set as that set gives more strength and more weapon skills bonuses, and 5 set will give another group heal proc. Having the combo set though will give you a dehate proc which'll help avoid pulling aggro.

Some worthwhile shard jewelry includes: If tanking (shard cost in parens) (defense / deflection / parry) (15) Stone Tower Bangle (0 / 6 / 6) (05) Defender's Band (5 / 5 / 5) (05) Defender's Girdle (5 / 5 / 5) (05) Defender's Stud (5 / 5 / 5) [ inferior to Rumbling Earring ] (20) Blocker's Bauble (4 / 3 / 3) Whether tanking or not (15) Rumbling Earring (4 / 4 / 4) (15) Rumbling Choker (4 / 4 / 4) [ gives 2 set bonus of +3 attack speed ] (50) Ykeshan Spellbear whistle [ gives 3 pure reuse, very hard to obtain stat for Brawlers ] DPS'ing (15) x3 Onslaught set of ear, cloak, wrist [ gives proc on combat art that's not bad even after nerf ]
Some gear that should be on the broker for purchase, all prices are based on typical cost on Guk server, your mileage may vary. da = double attack mc = melee crit sc = spell crit (only mentioned since several of our ca's and aa's still are affected by spell crit instead of melee crit) Elemental Idol of , 6-10p (charm) 2 mc, 2 sc, 5 crush / pierce / slash Casket Candle, 5-20p (charm) - good hps, parry and defense, damage proc War Stud of the Prime Everdark, blue shinie collection out of Lavastorm zones. 8 shinies, 1-2p each 2 mc and reactive ward proc for 900, which is a pretty high value for that. Mark of the Ankexfen, blue shinie collection out of RE2. 8 shinies, 5-15p each 2 mc, 2 da and proc for pow that is pretty significant at 675 over 16 sec's. Danak Essence Vial Necklace, 3-5p for component + tip Crafted by someone who has the recipe, I forget offhand if the component is an Chromatic Essence or Reflective Smoldering Shard. Gives flat 2% chance to riposte or parry any melee attack, which ups your survivability a lot. Wristlet of Nil Sight, 15-20p 1 da, 2 mc, 60 ca mod Sathaz's Dou Li, 50g 1 da, 2 mc, 3 deflect / 3 parry Shoulderpads of the Yclid, 4-10p 3 mc, 70 ca mod, 2 crush, 3 deflect Grandmaster's Pouch of Battle (thrown), 0.2 - 1p 50 str, 10 in-combat pow regen 35m range for thrown, which is rare. Any of the grandmaster's pouch series will do it but this one has best stats and is dirt cheap. The pow regen is nice too. Imbued hidebound leather satchel (thrown), 4p 4 parry, 35 ca mod Boar's Meat Satchel (thrown), 2-3p 1 mc, 35 ca mod If you don't care about the defense or longer range and combat power regen. Ravager Hide Armguards (forearms), ??p 2 mc, 5 defl, 5 parry Frost Cured Leather Bracers (forearms), 1p or less 2 mc, 70 ca mod Finely Carved Bloodwood Effigy 3x bloodwood plank at maybe 30g ea, +tip to crafter with recipe Best craftable offhander with 198 max dmg, 3da, damage proc with 2s stun as well Firefury Leggings, 50g 2 mc, 2 sc, 55 ca mod Torn Purple Breeches, 40g 2 da, 2 mc (don't wear if tanking since only level 75 your mit will suffer) Blithor Tooth Belt, ??p 3 dps, 2 mc, 2 sc Easy quest Ring of Flame Disciple (lavastorm solo quests) 3 mc, weapon skills, 32 haste
