Hey guys, I reinstalled EQ2 after a few months of absence (during which I also reinstalled windows), but now even on high performance, I don't get a decent framerate (in fact, I'm lucky if I reach 5fps, standing still)

I have an Intel Core Duo (T7200 @2.00ghz), with 3Gb of RAM and an ATI Mobility Radeon X1400. Anyone have an idea how I could tweak my performance? (it ran fine when I was still running vista btw)

Verify you have the best win7 drivers is about all I can say.

My game barely ran and crashed non-stop until a win7 sound driver finally came around.

Have to agree with Yimway... I have been running Win 7 now as my main os for over a month now and have had little problems. All my games installed and play well. Make sure you hunt down a good set of drivers.

Even with the latest drivers, I have poorer performance with EQ2 in Windows 7 than I do in Vista. With the same settings I see an average of 5-7 less fps in Windows 7. My system isn't that fancy, I run at 25-35 fps generally (outside guild halls). I'd like a better rig, but times are tough right now.

I have high hopes for the OS in time, but it is my feeling that currently the 'compatibility' features are not working as well as they could be yet.

The drivers still need to play catch up but the operating system seems to be coming along. Within a few months of release it should be running very well. I have high hopes.
