Hello, I've been playing EQ2 on and off since the beginning and I've recently come back from a 5-6 month break, anyhow I was wondering why it is so that my FPS drops when I turn around, or not my fps but it's like my game freezes a little now and then while im turning and loading new stuff, it only happens when there's "new" stuff around, my fps is just fine the rest of the time, I can be fighting some mobs with a steady 50+ fps and then when im done and pan my camera, f.ex. behind me to check for more mobs I get a freeze while new stuff is loaded, this is really painfull and really makes it frustrating to play.

It also happens while just running forward, steady and fine fps but after running for a little while it has to "load" (I think) and I get a couple freezes, when they're over my fps is just fine again and repeat.

I have experienced this in other games on and off, sure many have and it's fairly standard but it's happening so frequent and heavily right now for me in EQ2 that it makes it affect my gaming, wanting to play some on a pvp server I could see it cause me to die many a times.

Any information regarding this and if there's any way to lower it would be greatly appriteated!

Greetings,

Could you provide us with some basic information about the computer you are using? A list of what CPU, RAM, and graphics card you are using should be sufficient.

Based on the information you have provided so far, I would advise lowering the view distance in the display options. Lowering that should make a major difference.

I am having the same problems. So, anything you find out would help a lot. I got a quad core 2.33 gig pc, with 7 gigs of ram, and a Geforce 9800 GT. No spyware, or dust build up. I am totally confused. Anything you find out I hope will help me too. I heard other people have performance problems lately.

Any information from at least the first 6 sections of your DxDiag (Instructions in the ***Read Before Posting*** thread) that you can post here would help so we can see what you're working with on your system!

Greetings,

If you haven't already, run a full disk defragment and check for any hard disk errors. Since you're getting the error when the game loads new objects, that seems like a likely cause.
