I am trying to cancel my account yet I see that SoE has again made it manditory to answer their [Removed for Content] survey to cancel an account. In the past I would join the live chat and tell a rep to cancel my account but it doesn't work. I tried email support and, SURPRISINGLY, it doesn't work either.

Short of calling SoE how can I cancel my account?

Tell your credit card company to stop paying it.

IDK why you would want to do that tho.... I would take joy in telling SOE everything that is wrong with their game.

I'd be happy to cancel your account as well if you'd like to send a PM my way with your account name!

Between website failures and pages that didn't load, I thought that I had canceled my account. I was on a 1-yr renewal. Found out it had not been canceled. Attempted to resolve via tech support. Was told that the agent canceled the account. However the charge had already been applied to my CC. So contacted CC and had them reverse the charge.

8-months later...

Bored this summer thought I'd revisit some old friends on EQ2. Attempted to re-open account and was in formed that I would be required to prepay a full year (the amount that was reversed by the CC company~$150). It was easier and more affordable to just start a new account, new toons. And, due to poor handling IMO, I will not play any more once this month runs out.

Bottom line...once SOE charges your CC, you are on the hook for that amount FOREVER on that account. You must cancel before your renewal date. There is absolutely no flexibility.

KB

Usually with enforced surveys like this I make sure I fill in everything at random. Its a minor protest at something like this but it ensures any exit poll is totally worthless.

Besides, the overriding reason I ever cancel accounts is because I no longer can afford to pay it. And thats all. Been that way since year dot tbh. Damned if I'm going to fill in a survey for a game I can no longer afford to play.
