I don't know if this discussion will end up here in the end but I think it has its roots in a lore section.

All of us probably know the exterior "cavern" with big maelstrom above that is used for exterior of the OoLS...

Since TSO, all Void instance that have exteriors have manage to use a new "sky" system that is more realistic to the lore aspect of what the void sky/space is supposed to look like.

I suppose that back in time at the launching of the game, this technology was not available for OoLS thus the result we got...

Now I wonder.. Am i totally wrong in thinking that these caverns are not meant to be caverns at all but open sky with black hole like all others and as a result a revamp of the OoLS to match the other Void instances of TSO should be made?

Maybe not the internal architecture of the obelisk as it is cool and has lots of contents quest related and all, but simply the caverns surrounding. Don't you think it would be a good idea? Now I wonder if Kiara will read this topic and could post an answer reguarding that (though this may not be her domain of activity but rather a purely graphical coding) but I'm curious about everybody's thought on the matter.

If there already was a thread on that topic I'm sorry for the duplicata and would gladly accept the link to the other thread

I don't think they're going to care about that. They're not gonna go back and revamp Lost Souls or Blight just because of TSO. Too much work involved for the art team.

I do believe that the Obelisk of Lost Souls is essentially a cave within one of the floating rocks inside the void. Doesn't Everling find himself upon a rock spinning around the Void, and he goes down into a cavern to find a tower like that? The stairway he takes down dissapears afterward though.

That's what i thought to - it's inside a cavern. The swirling vortexes on the roof are portals, not that black-hole-thingie.

OoB, iirc, does not have any extermal views, so isn't a worry.

Yeah, the exterior is called the "Anchor Cavern". You can see that the swirling vortexes are portals more easily with partical effects turned up because you can see things flying in and out of them.
