So in another thread I started Ive had problems logging into the game, I decided to return to the game as of recent. No one has been able to help me, I tried all the crap for windows vista, and the launcher just keeps freezing up after login. So at this point can I be directed to getting my money back please.

I've had users here at work hose a brand new computer in 48 hours.

Where computers are concerned, "new" or "old" is pretty meaningless until you get to the point that the hardware simply won't run the software.

I understand hardware not running software but like not being able to run the launcher and patch the game? I could see it loading and not going passed the loading screen but It wont even run the launcher that sounds like a different problem. Ive ran warhammer online, half life 2 and mods, combat arms, and other games without problems. So...

Thousands of people run the launcher every day without issue. Maybe you should follow up with the TSR who was helping you yesterday.

EQ2 is a royal pain in the *** when you try to run it on Vista. There is a list of things you have to do to get the thing to run.

Try checking the Vista thread in the Support Forum

i had problems with windows vista too. What i had to do I'm not sure if it was mentioned or not. Be sure you launch the station launcher with Admin rights. The way you do that is Right click it then select Open as admin i believe is what it says then it should let you run the game. You can also set it to open as admin all the time if you right click on the icon and go to properties then there should be a tab that has the option to select launch as admin.

Hope that helps you!

I wish you luck!

Ok 2 things.

First, right click the executable and select properties, click on the compatibility tab, check the box that says to run this program in compatibility for Windows XP and then check the box that says run this program as an administrator.

Second, right click the executable and select run as administrator every time you run the game. Shouldn't have any more problems.

Sometimes it helps (me) to reset my router and modem. Try that and give it some time.

Use the new station launch pad and see if it works. I like ot 100 times better then EQ2's dedicated patcher ..

Main thing with Vista is never, ever install games in the program files folder. Install all games into the root of the drive (ie) c:eq2 and Vista will give alot less problems.

If you wish to discuss a refund then you will need to contact our support line through phone, e-mail, or chat. I have included a link to our contact information below:

http://help.station.sony.com/cgi-bi...p?p_faqid=10404

That said, I'm still willing to help you with the issue. It isn't always easy to diagnose and correct these issues, though, so it can take a little trial and error.

I would also try the New Launchpad, Not only is it about 10x faster then the old launchpad, it is far more Vista, and UAC friendly.

On my wife's computer Norton's would occasionaly decide it hated the laucher and automatically block the game from launching after an update.
