I'm more curious than anything, but I remember debuffing mobs in KoS and to a degree EoF where it mattered some if you got all your debuffs stacked on the mobs.

In RoK it's still fairly important, but in TSO it is the absolute LEAST of my concerns.

Cures... cures... cures... running through the portals... stand on one foot or the raid explodes, balance a pig on your nose or the raid explodes... etc.

Debuffing raid mobs fully doesn't seem to lessen the need for piles of Crit Mit...

So if that's the case.. why didn't get get a debuff with TSO that allows us to lower a mobs crit number? Even by 10? I mean, if one of our strong points was our ability to debuff mobs, why can't we debuff them anymore?

What about a raidwide emergency ward that blocks one AOE with a 15 minute recast timer?

We seem to be really lacking in a big department that I used to consider a fun part of my job as a Shaman...

Sony, can we get some defensive abilities to match current content please?

I think debuffs tend to be undervalued, actually. While bottoming out a mob's dps and haste mods is done almost instantly on engage, stat values tend to have a pretty linear effect on AE damage from what I've seen - you can just watch the values on permanent-debuffs/reactives on you change as the mob is debuffed if you're curious on the efficacy. I also think people greatly underestimate debuffing adds, which are frequently ignored - raids don't frequently run enough brigands to cover both the main mob and epic adds also with dispatch, so resist and wis debuffs actually become meaningful there. Then there's a number of encounters that also strip debuffs, which should train you in debuff orders to reduce the window of vulnerability of your raid to a second or two at most.

I'm not advocating letting people in your group croak in order to cast a redundant atrophy, but I do think debuffs are very frequently underestimated, especially on adds.

Our debuffing used to be one of the most critical debilitators for mobs since their innate haste/DPS mods weren't so high.

As xpac's progressed and these mobs began to whack harder, faster, our debuffs just didn't really keep up. I still carry Atrophyweaving but if they were to add something more disabling to Hex I'd pick it back up.

And as far as defensive spells, Defiler Prophetic Ward in '10!
