HiSome friends started playing EQ2 so I thought I would join them. I started downloading the trial and, when I saw it was going to take 16 hours through the Station launcher, decided against it.After sleeping on it I decided to buy the starter pack on Steam (figured it would be a quicker download... erm, no). So after 12 hours or so (not sure how long, I let it go overnight) it finally finishes. It launches the Station launcher again and says that it's the trial. Hmm, I think, but I decide to see what happens. It decides to go through another 90 minutes of updating. Finally finishes and I finally get to load the game. Create a character but then see that I'm on the EU servers rather than US, where my friends are playing. I figure out that I need to change my settings in the launcher to US. I do so... and then the launcher decides to start downloading for 16 hours again.I've tried changing the install location but it looks like it's pointing to the right place already. Any ideas?I don't want to change back to EU because the whole reason I'm playing is so that I can check out the game with my friends.

Someone suggested I try double-clicking the exe file in the EQ2 directory. I did that and it kept saying that files were missing (xul.dll, etc) until it said the following:

"The procedure entry point JS_GetOperationLimit could not be located in the dynamic link library js3250.dll."

Any ideas?

Thanks.

The different regions have different versions of the client, so it will require a new download. That said, 16 hours seems long. What type of connection do you have? With any kind of high speed connection like cable/DSL, it shouldn't take more than 4-6 hours.

Assuming you're using a high speed connection, you might want to try bypassing your router to see if that improves your download speed. A blocked port on a router is the most common cause of a slow download.
