View Full Version : Can you ever truly run out of things to do in EQ2?

Been playing since Dec. 2007. I have one level 80 and a ton of alts on two accounts.

My problem is there is too much to do and I kind of do a little here and there and don't really accomplish much as I guess I have a short attention span.

But seriously, for those that have been playing since launch and even those that have come onboard since then-can you ever run out of things to do?

On my 80 I still haven't done any of the crafting on Mara-haven't got my Epic or any shard armor. I have a bunch of alts from the teens up to the 60's. Recently started Dual Boxing and am having a blast. I love bringing each new alt through the Dungeons..especially SH and RE so far.

I still have 8 crafting professions I can level to 80. A ton of alts to level. Guild status grinding for my guild. Helping guildies. Start grouping and learn that part of the game. Start raiding and see how I like it. Haven't spent much time in moors and we have a new expansion coming out in 7 months.

This game has so much to offer I'm curious if anyone has got to the point of being close to running out of content? I guess if you only like one or two things about the game you'd run out-but I applaud the Dev's who have made a game in which I feel lost at times due to its enormity. Hoping for many more years of play.

Well, you can run out of things to do that you -enjoy-. I'm not aware of anyone who's done every single quest in the game or anything like that, but everyone has different things that they consider fun content for them. Like someone who only solo's could exhaust all the content they consider interesting, or the same thing with someone who only enjoys raiding. I enjoy a lot about the game, so I don't think it's likely I'll ever run out of things to do.

Well, especially if you dual box it increases the options since you might want to play with various combinations. When I dual boxed, I enjoyed doing strange stuff like dual wizards just to see how things go.

While it would be hard to run out of things to do, its not hard to run out of things to do that an individual considers enjoyable.

well am currently in a project inside EQ2 to level slowly by turning of combat and quest xp.

you really see all the content there is, and the aa is also a bonus.

if you are a lore freek like I am this is a must go. And there are more players like me, look in this topic http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=439000 to read about there progress.

So enough to do, yes for me and when I'm a little bored of eq2 (yes that's possible) I do another game but that doesn't take long cause I always return soon

If you have no alts, you can easily run out of things to do after a few years even if you do every single thing in game - raiding, crafting, grouping, status, etc.

If you like having alts, it's endless if you don't mind repeating the same stuff a bunch of times.

Playing Alts is not the same thing as having additional things to do.......its simply doing the same stuff over again.

You can't run out of things to do in just about any MMO, but you can easily run out of things to do that you enjoy.

When I maxed my WoW main, there truly wasn't anything much left for me to do but login every other day and check the broker. In EQ2, I get a lot of enjoyment out of crafting (I have 3 level 80 crafters and several lowbie crafters), and especially I enjoy the house decorating aspect. The decorating is the one thing I really missed the most from EQ2. While I played Vanguard I did a lot of decorating (decorated a large guild hall plus my own house) but you are limited to 1 very small house (even at the largest size) and maybe a guild hall if you are lucky... then what? You can only re-decorate so many times! Here, I have a whole server full of alts to decorate for, and even take commissions to decorate for others. I also raid casually with friends, and am working on getting a second alt to level 80 so that I can play/raid with her when my main's class isn't required or she has a timer for a zone.

These are a sad lot of individuals, they do not have the capability to actually enjoy the gameplay and have no sense of wonder or adventure.

The true enjoyment of this game is the journey, not the destination. Those who take their time and enjoy that journey will never run out of things to do. For the rest, your frustrations are of your own making. The developers can only generate new content just so fast and it is not their fault you choose to skip over 90% of it since it does not increase your numbers.

There is always something you can do in EQ2, its just a matter of coming up with ideas. For example I know of one guy on my server that has spent the time to fraps heritage quests for his guild. Another person (not on my server) made a EQ2 version of the infamous "numa numa" video. Other people have left their orginal server to play on test to try and better the game.

So I guess my point is everything you can do in EQ2 doesn't have to involve your character.
