Sounds like my problem.

Good Luck.

One observation I made was that the 3 characters I did have left were all lower level and shared bank bags were gone as well as plat. I specifically asked multiple tech support people if they could see any hack/activity on my account and the answer was "No, no activity and no movement of characters off the account. I can see them in EQPlayer2.

From looking at several postings I fear there are or is (singular) people within EQ2 that see old accounts any go on grabbing spree. What I founf most disturbing is the reps telling me they can not do character lookups, I find that impossible to believe. Escalation did no good. I am moving on to other games.

Again, good luck.

The exact same thing happened to me.

I tried logging in on July 3rd after receiving an email about the new update/bonus AXP and found that someone had changed my password. When I went to Station to try to change it, I was told that I couldn't because I had already performed this function within the last twenty-four hours.

The next day when I was able to change my password, I logged in to find that every item on all of my characters (on a 5+ year-old account) had been sold and that all of my platinum was gone. Also, a level one character had been created.

I've already submitted an in-game support ticket and have sent a forum PM to TSR KenC in hopes of resolving this issue.

I think someone within EQ/SOE is cherry picking accounts.

Notice our start dates.

The sequence seems to be....

Old account - all my rewards were taken

I have cancelled on 03/09

It looks like someone applied a trail account to my account....I have a weird 14.00 credit invoice applied to my account/nets on invoice to $0.00.

I recieved a ban notice on July 1 - June 29th is when new characters were started.

I cleared my account thru support to prove who I was and got the account in good standing (Active).

Went back to check EQ2 out again on July 4th...characters missing. But I had resubed...Billing worked on the 6th.

I received no satisfaction from support and cancelled on the 7th.

Poked in today and see characters started on July 11th.

Captured screens and changed account info to lock out the person/as of now it is still mine with none of my characters but a Wiz to 50 with 18 hours.

Going to be an interesting call tomorrow.

Yep, something's fishy.

To update:

Everything was sold (inventory and bank included) from all of my characters except the one I used as my raid main (an 80 Illy/Sage, fully Fabled/Myth'd). I'm guessing this was the character they were planning on auctioning, like the level 50 wizard on your account.

And I know that it was on July 3rd that this took place, because I play other Station games using the SOE Launcher and my password worked fine until that day.

Greetings,

Anyone experiencing this type of issue should contact our support through phone, chat, or e-mail. Correcting this kind of thing requires verifying information that we can not do over the forums. Also, it's impossible to tell exactly what happened without looking at the specific account.

My guess is that some of these cases may be people logging into the wrong account after an absence while the other cases involve compromised accounts. Contact our support line and we can take steps to resolve either issue. I have included a link with our contact info below:

http://help.station.sony.com/cgi-bi...p?p_faqid=10404

I just spent well over an hour with support person who was very helpful and trying to figure out what happened.

In a nutshell it looks like I am a "compromised account". I am hoping that a character roll back will help solve this with a total/support assist on the account security. I did have secure password(8 chars alpha/numeric), secret question etc.

Only time will tell and my confidence is still shaky. Do I invest more time and money? My account got compromised months after it was cancelled and no one knows how...shrug.

As far as how, it's really hard to say. The most likely cause would be using the same login on a 3rd party website associated with the game. Those websites are ripe targets since they don't typically have the same level of security that we have.

An account compromise isn't that bad of a situation, though. We'll verify some info, have you change the security answer and password, and then the GMs will try to restore the lost character(s). Obviously it's not fun when it happens to your account, but we should be able to correct it pretty quickly for you.
